Consiglio, Joseph Anthony
Age 56, died peacefully on August 5, 2023 after a short but fierce battle with lung cancer. Joe is survived by his mother, Patricia, and his brothers John (Nicole) of St. Louis, and Dan (Lauren) and their children, Lily, Lucy, and Sam, of Evanston, Illinois, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is pre-deceased by his father, John Consiglio.
Joe was a devoted son, brother, uncle and friend, who returned to St. Louis (from Chicago) in 2021 to be closer to his mother, and the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, and STL City. While in Chicago, "Uncle Jokes" was the best Uncle and friend to Dan and Lauren's children, and heralded as the best babysitter they have ever known. Despite the joy he found in being close to family in Chicago, he ultimately decided that he would return to St. Louis, perhaps primarily to get away from Cubs fans.
Joe was a proud graduate of Webster Groves High School, Statesmen Class of 1985. He attended the University of Missouri, Webster University, and finally the UMKC School of Law. He was a skilled lawyer with an attention to detail, and was a trusted team member on important projects for decades.
Joe was an intensely loyal, intelligent and compassionate friend, whose gift of story-telling, quiet intelligence, and comedic timing made him a joy to be around. Joe was a kind soul who gave so much more to this world than he took, and his spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of so many.
And one last request: bring a glimmer of joy to someone else's life, just as Joe did, by spending time with friends or family in fellowship. Tell stories, listen to music, watch sports, or just tell jokes and laugh until you experience dysphonia. Then make sure that together you raise a glass in Joe's honor.
Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, August 11th, from 9-10:30a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church, 17 Joy Ave, Webster Groves, MO, with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements by Bopp Chapel.

I knew Joe in the early 2000s before returning to Australia. We haven't kept in touch all these years so I was surprised to randomly experience a vivid dream about him last night. That led me to look him up online and discover his passing. Joe, the dream was very representative of the nature of our relationship and a beautiful gift to remind me of you. I feel sad knowing you passed, I would have loved to reconnect. Some of my fondest memories involve your ability to join me in being silly and finding humour in the mundane everyday. Fav memories include that time at the park encountering an overly curious dog that you named Sparky and the ensuing rediculous conversation about whether the dog's coat could be described as 'piebald'. Other fond memories include our fake 'spew' photo session when we discovered spilled paint while taking pictures, and you busting out Prince dance moves while we walked home from Blueberry Hill. Thankyou for sharing your warmth with me all those years ago, you'll always be in my heart. X Heathie

Joe was good people, a jokester in highschool, quiet yet caring from what I can remember. Treated people with respect and accepted people for who they were. Haven´t seen him since we graduated but he made an impression, because I knew his name and who he was and was saddened by the news. Love and condolences to his family and all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

May your memories give you peace and comfort of your loved one. Words fall short of expressing my sorrow for the loss of your loved one. May GOD be with you all during this difficult time. 1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we have faith that Jesus died and rose again, so too God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in death through Jesus.
