Joseph Donnelly Obituary
December 27, 1942 - December 16, 2024
Joseph E. Donnelly, age 81 of Chesterfield, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024. He was born in Effingham, Illinois to the late Charles and Ella Donnelly. Joe served in the U.S. Army, and later worked most of his life at Mastercard. He was a member of Ascension Catholic Parish in Chesterfield, and enjoyed golfing, hunting and watching sports. Joe is survived by his wife Maria; children Jill, Julie and Joe; his grandchildren Connor, Ella, Greta, Aidan, Andie, Elijah, Abigail, and Joshua; and sister Mary Hasenstab of Highland, Illinois. His brother, Tom Donnelly of North Canton, Ohio preceded him to eternal rest. Joe graciously donated his remains for medical advancement. Donations may be made to the following:

What a wonderful person - he hired me at MasterCard as his assistant after a very short interview that I didn't think I did well. I didn't get a chance to talk much and he called me as soon as I got home. I loved working for him and I very much appreciated the opportunity. He was so proud of his children and his wife.

I also worked on several projects with Joe at A-B and enjoyed a few rounds of golf with him. So sorry to hear of his passing. He will be remembered fondly by all his friends.

I am very sad to see this. I worked with Joe for many years at MasterCard. He was a mentor, friend and a colleague. He spoke highly of his family all the time and I had the privilege of meeting Maria and Joe Jr. several times. We shared a lot of laughs out on the golf course. Joe was very special to me personally and professionally during our many years together at MasterCard. Joe, I hope you find some of the straightest fairways and flattest greens in Heaven. Prayers to the family during this difficult time. Rest in Peace Joe.
