My sincere sympathies to Marilyn and Mr. Fitz's family.
In a mans lifetime he is fortunate to impact maybe one or two, possibly a group, of youngsters in a positve way as to leave both them and the world a better place. Mr. Fitz did just that. Thing is, he did it for an entire community of Colden's young people. Our summers were because of him. Hell, Colden was paying Boston to let us kids play ball before Mr. Fitz showed up. Thank God he did!
His friendahip was unconditional. His love of kids and the people in Colden immeasurable.
His life and deeds done here on earth will be, and are, everlasting.

I am so grateful for the last 13 years that we spent as neighbors and friends, besides being sister and brother.. the rich memories that I have of our times together will lighten my heavy heart and bring a smile to me,after the tears... I miss your Friday visits, our dinners together, our early exploratory bike rides together, your wonderful poems and cards and the richness that you brought to Brian and Scott and to our grandchildren... Sneakers all the way for everyone.... I love you and miss you... I know you will be my guiding star and guardian angel and have already felt that.. Pat

To Mrs. Fitzsimmons and all of your family:
There aren't enough honors to be spoken and accolades to be written for Mr. Fitzsimmons. How many lives did he touch? How many people did he help? Those of us fortunate enough to have been taught by him have our hearts indelibly scribed with his sounds of his laughter, that big smile and the easy demeanor that seemed effortless for him. You couldn't have a bad time when you were with him! Please know your husband, father, grandfather, uncle and sibling was a man above men - I am privileged to say I knew him.

My best wishes to all of you in this difficult time, but we also celebrate his life as someone who truly made a difference in people's lives, especially those he taught.

God rest ye, Merry Gentleman.
