Ancona, Joyce Marilyn
welcomed into the arms of her beloved Joe in Heaven on Monday, August 29, 2022 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Ancona; loving mother of Don (Paula) Ancona of Albuquerque, NM and Laura (John) Lee; cherished "Nana" of Kristyna (Kurtis) Woods, Anthony (Micaela), Vincent, and Veronica Ancona; great-grandmother of Daniel Woods; dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Orrell Huber; brother Arthur Huber, and her sisters, Jean Healy and Joan Bogash.
Joyce was born Dec. 30, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois. She was a prolific greeting card-giver who never forgot an occasion and a Facebook influencer (LOL). She was the most generous, unselfish person who always thought of others before herself. Watch for Hallmark stock to drop immediately. :-) She made an impact on anyone she ever met and she will be missed by all. Ditto.

Don, Laura and family-
We are heartbroken for your loss. Joyce became such an important part of our family, along with Joe (aka: Joe Cool). She was the first to send cards or messages on Facebook to mark special occasions in our family and i know countless others too. She was such a loving and kind person who will be dearly missed. Thinking and praying for her and her reunion with Joe in heaven❤
With Sympathy,
Laura, Carl , Carl jr and Elise Artino

When we moved to St. Louis 11 years ago we didn't have any family in the area. We moved in across the street from Joyce and Joe, who welcomed us and our children as if we were a part of theirs. My children have fond memories of visiting with Joyce and I will miss her quick wit and sweet demeanor she bestowed on us. She was a wonderful woman who will be dearly missed by us all! I am happy to know though, that she is back with Joe watching over all of us. I feel so lucky to have had her not only as a neighbor but a friend! Our love to the family and to Joe and Joyce!!

Joyce Ancona, God's gift to her husband and children and grandchildren. A gift of memory, hope, faith and love that will now linger in our minds forever. A gift that God called home to heaven. May she rejoice in the Lord always and again we say rejoice.

Auntie Joyce was the most thoughtful, selfless, trustworthy and loving person I think I have ever known. She never betrayed anyone's trust . . . she also had a great sense of humor. One of my favorite stories about her is when she and Uncle Joe had a car accident after eating at their favorite Italian restaurant and she had left over eggplant parmesean in the car. As she was telling me about the accident and how she was in so much pain, she couldn't remember what happened or much afterwards because of the pain she was in. As the paramedics were putting her in the ambulance, she told them that there was eggplant parmesean in the front seat and that one of them should take it home, so it doesn't go to waste! That was her, in tremendous pain and still has the forethought to make sure sure the eggplant got eaten! She was an amazing human being and I am so fortunate to have had her in my life. She will be sorely missed and always loved. Now she's in the arms of her husband, where she always wanted to be. RIP Auntie Joyce, I love you.

I worked with Joyce after her surgery. She was invincible. Despite her struggle she remained cheerful and hopeful. She was sweet and thoughtful and I will never forget her. My deepest sympathy to her family.

So sorry to hear of Mrs. Ancona´s passing. Joyce and Joe were our "adopted " Aunt and Uncle here in St. Louis. Both our families moved here from Chicago about the same time and ended up in the same neighborhood and St Joseph´s parish. I don´t believe that was just by chance. I think our parents needed each other at that time and forged a beautiful and blessed life long friendship. Rest In Peace Joyce, love you Joe. God Bless the Ancona family. Love you all!

There's a huge empty spot left from my dear mother in law. She was such a trooper, between the Thursday zoom calls, the daily phone calls and emails full of emojis , and the most thoughtful handwritten hallmark cards of all time! Everyone that knew her knows the joy that she brought to us all. I'm one of the most fortunate person's from know her and only wish everyone could be so lucky. You are so missed, Joyce. ♥
