Julius Csengody Obituary

Csengody, Julius J. fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on July 11, 2006 at age 94.
Beloved husband of Mary Csengody (nee Chapo) for 63 years; dear father of Gabor (Patty) Csengody, the late Dennis Csengody, Steve (Mary) Csengody, Tom (Susan) Csengody; Agnes (Dan) Keating and Judi (Richard) Paletta; dear grandfather of ten and great-grandfather of two; dear brother-in-law, uncle and greatuncle both in the U.S. and in Hungary.
Born in Hungary in 1911, Julius was working toward a doctorate degree in Agricultural Engineering when he was drafted to serve in the Hungarian Cavalry as a First Lieutenant. In 1945 he emigrated from Hungary to the U.S. with his wife and two children and they became U. S. citizens. They settled in St. Louis in 1957 where Julius established a private practice as a certified Landscape Architect for over 40 years. Julius was a parishioner of Annuniziata Church parish for nearly 50 years and an active member of St. Mary of Victories Hungarian Church. His devout faith in Christ, dedication as a loving husband & father, integrity, ethics, and unwavering humor are his greatest legacies to his family and to all who knew him.Services: Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Mon, July 24, 2006 at St. Mary of Victories Church, 733 South 3rd Street, St. Louis, MO 63102 . In lieu of flowers, donations or masses in his memory at St. Mary of Victories Church are requested.
