Connie and family,
Dad just sent me this link. I'm so deeply sorry for your loss. Kenny had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. My heartfelt memory of him was when he ordered the bagpipers for your mother's funeral. Dad and I were touched by your and his thoughtfulness. I'm continuing my prayers for you and the rest of the family. Jill

I really enjoyed working for Ken at Saint Louis University. He was always thankful for the job you did no matter what. He was a pleasure working for. He was just a great guy. His demeanor is what led you to be a better person. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I first met Ken when DPS moved to the Lindell Building at SLU. Over the months I got to know him pretty well. Every morning I would see him on break, he would say "Morning Ladies".

I would see him throughout the day and he still had that smile on his face.

He was a very caring person and I admire him for his career path. It takes a very warm hearted person to be in public service for 30+ years. I am truly honered to have met him.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time of loss.

Just a few weeks back, the residents life student advisory board met with Captain Hornak. At the meeting I noticed his passion for maintaining a happy and safe campus for the students of Saint Louis University, and such a passion is contagious.
To his family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. We will miss him dearly here at Saint Louis University as he truly made our campus a safer place.

The McLean family sends their deepest sympathies to the Hornak family. It has been many years since we have seen Kenny but remember him as a very kind, caring person. He helped us out often with catering both personal and boxing events. I know he will be missed greatly.

Connie and the Hornak Family,
Donna and I send our sincerest condolences on your loss. My many fond memories of Kenny cannot be put into words. He always tried very hard to do his best at whatever he had his mind set on whether it was "lead" guitar in our 1970's teenage rock band, goalie for our 1980's indoor soccer team, representing STL PD in Guns & Hoses in 1980's, representing STL PD K-9 Unit doing demonstrations for Sokol and Boy Scout events for my children, working crowd control outside Ed Jones Dome after a Rams game, and much more. Kenny has popped into my life many times over the last five decades and I always saw the same person that worked hard at his job and always had a smile on his face.
He will definitely be missed by all.
