No matter what in our lives separated us we were always and still going to be connected together by our hearts. My whole heart goes out to your children. I can't believe this...the person i grew up with, didn't see for years and just started back talking to, and seeing in the clubs by herself, of course cause, "thats how she rolled"...is not here...my girl, so crazy, so funny, so smooth! That was Makeisha for you....and now you are gone....too soon.....too soon....we never went to our breakfast after the "Beano"....but I must say I am lucky to have even been graced with that time... I will never forget the "crazy Codys"...Hog you helped raise me and taught me about "Charlie".....be strong......evrything happens for a reason, pray about it and it will be allright....I love yall....I'm just still trying to understand it all......I will keep everyone in my prayers....

but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.

because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.

Audrey, Marcus, Mahogany and Michael, Jailynn, Jaidah and Tanario and all the youth who shared her time at Emerson Park's Tomorrows Builders YouthBuild Program: it's not often we have the opportunity to share the love of an entire family of our students, but the "Cody Kids" are an amazing bunch of young people, bright, funny and full of love all of us here at Emerson Park ache for and with all of you. As I read the entries of others I was moved to see how many others she shared her spirit with we too were blessed to have had Makeisha in our lives at Emerson Park's Tomorrows BUilders YouthBuild. When I heard the news of her passing the first flashes I had were of her smile, her laughter and her love for her children, family and friends, much like all of you! I pray you can find some comfort in having a REAL Angel in Heaven to watch over you as you go on with your lives with her in your heart. Be strong for those babies and be sure they know how hard their mom worked to become better and to be more for them each and every day. Our hearts are heavy for ALL of you and are prayers are filled with love, hope, safety and grace for each and every one of you. To the family of Makeisha I say to you keep your hand in God's hand and lean not to your own understanding. Yeas you loved Makeisha but, God loved her best. The Lord loaned you her for 28 years and in the years, she made a lot of positive changes in her life, I watched this young lady struggle and survive all at the same time. She was a determined young lady and once she set her mind to do something she did it. She was raisng her children and doing things to better herself everyday, so she was a good example of a young mother thriving to be independent. I pray that she is in peace now and no longer weighed down with the troubles of this old dying world, Makeisha has taken this journey one that we will all have to make one day. so I say RIP Makeisha, and now your daughters and son will have to be your legacy.

To the family of MaKeisha Cody I as well as other Staff At Mandela Elementary School are heartbroken over the death of your mother, daughter, sister. It is truly incomprehensible to me on a personal note, because I truly admired her determination to make a better life for her children and herself. She was a star on the rise. To Jailynn, Jaidah, and Tanario you're in my thoughts and prayers, but I hope you know how loved you were and I know how much you love your mom, but take comfort in knowing that she lives in you and carry on what she wanted for you all. To the family, I just wanted you to know that I adoptedd Makeisha as 1 of my daughters. I often told her how she resembled my oldest child. Makeisha and I ALWAYS talked about EVERYTHING. I was proud of her knowing that she was a single parent trying her best to raise her children in the right, positive way. It deeply crushed me when I got the phone call at work, It was just like getn news about my birth daughter. I will truly miss her smile and ALL of the conversations we had. Makeisha is a JEWEL that no one will EVER forget. I say to the family NOW is the time to become so close and tight that NO ONE or NOTHING will break that bond. Now is the time to PRAY like never before and do so EVERYDAY, even with her children. I never met them but when she talked about them, she called them my grandchildren. Ms. Cody you were the one who gave me encouraging words in March during my loss, and it is my pleasure to return those words. I hate the way this nightmare has played out, but you told me God will never put anything on you, you cannot bare. I loved this girl so much, everyday that I would bartend I would look up and wait for her to walk by for her charts for room service. She always knew how to make me smile and I remember the first day I met her, I knew we would be great friends. She always asked me how I was feeling when I didnt even get to say goodbye to her. I love you makeisha, you were the most beautiful person Ive ever met.
