Marian Straite Obituary
Marian was predeceased by her parents, William F. and Marian Rodgers Bueler, and her brothers, William F. Bueler, Jr. and Donaldson Bueler. Marian's professional journey took her from Springfield, Illinois, to Suffield, Connecticut, where she dedicated herself to shaping the minds and hearts of countless students. Her commitment to excellence and unwavering support for her students earned her the admiration and respect of all who knew her.
In addition to her illustrious career, Marian found her greatest joy and fulfillment as a devoted wife and mother. She was united in marriage to Thomas J. Straite, and together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. Marian's love knew no bounds, and her family was her greatest treasure. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Thomas J. Straite, and her cherished children: Robert H. Gross III (Sarah Quish), Petersen W. Gross (Kimberly Gross), Kimberly Calcasola, David Straite, and Michael Straite (Michelle Straite).
Marian's legacy of love extends to her adored grandchildren: Benjamin Calcasola (16), Christopher Calcasola (16), Wyatt Gross (8), Oliver Gross (7), Callie Gross (6), and Lucy Gross (4). She took immense pride in watching them grow and delighted in creating lasting memories with each of them.
Marian will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. All who had the privilege of knowing her will deeply miss her warmth, wisdom, infectious laughter, and quick wit.
A wake in honor of Marian's life will be held on March 18th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home in Suffield, CT, on East Street. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and share fond memories of Marian.
A funeral service will follow on March 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home on East Street in Suffield, CT. The service will celebrate Marian's life, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Interment will take place following the service at Over the Mountain Cemetery in West Suffield, CT, on Phelps Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) Coalition in Marian's honor.
Though Marian may no longer walk beside us, her love will continue to guide and inspire us all. May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.

Aunt Marian you were always so kind, thoughtful, and generous toward us. I'm so glad we all stayed in touch even with the distance between. Our memories of you will be cherished and loved forever. It was and will continue to be my honor to share your birthday. Love, your Nephew James

Our thoughts and prayer go out to the entire Staite family. Marian was a sweet kind person. We first met her when our daughter was deployed to Iraq along with Marian´s son Michael. We became friends almost immediately at our monthly Family Readiness. Our friendship continued over the years after our children returned. Marian will be sadly missed. Rest in Peace Marian
