Dear Tom and family,
I just wanted you to know how sorry I was to hear that Marty passed away. She was such a wonderful woman and a strong fighter, right to the very end. We can all learn a very valuable lesson from her tremendous faith and courage. Death is never the end, as Marty's love will always surround you, and you will find evidence of that all around you, every day of your life. What Marty leaves behind is woven into the lives of those she knew and loved. Marty was one of my favorite patients, and it was always my pleasure to take care of her in my office. I am so glad I had the chance to know her and share a little time with her.

Wow, I cannot believe my friend and neighbor is gone. We had a lot of good times swimming and drinking and dining. I know Tom and Marty had a wonderful lifetime in togetherness. Marty and Tom had this:
How wonderful it is to go along life's twisting road with someone who will understand and share each episodefor when we travel hand-in-handthe way is paved with smiles and many ruts are taken fromthe long and weary miles two hearts that beat in unison can stand most any test each in the other's interest makes for a smoother quest it's great to have a someone on whom you can depend gold cannot buy the treasures gained from true love's dividend those blessed with real togetherness are those who need not fearlife holds untold beauty when purpose is sincere so find yourself a someone but if and when you do make sure the person that you choose is someone good and true.

I was so sad to learn about Martha. I remember all the Christmas's that the cousins spent at Aunt Kitty and Uncle Chuck's house when we were small - and there weren't that many of us! Even though we don't see each other very often, it's good to know there's a big family out there. Marty will be missed.

My sincere and most heartfelt sympathies to Tom and all of Marty's family. Marty and I worked together at Duke Realty. I miss our long talks either in her office or at my desk. She was so easy to talk to and we could talk about anything. We discovered that our husbands are very much alike, and needless to say, we had a few good, but respectful laughs sometimes. She was a very special lady and I will miss her terribly. Marty's great love for Tom and her family showed every time she spoke of them. I know she's in God's loving arms and surrounded by family and friends that have gone on before her. Rest well, Marty. Until I see you again.
Love always,
