Marvin Wayne Buss BS, MS

Buss, Marvin Wayne, BS, MS peacefully passed away at home February 10, 2014. He grew up in Holton, KS, the youngest of 5 children of George and Kathryn Buss. He graduated from Holton High School and was a member of the inaugural class of the United States Air Force Academy. Marvin was a pilot in the Air Force and, while stationed in Lincoln Nebraska, he met the love of his life and future wife Lynn. In 1965 Marvin graduated from the RAF Empire Test Pilot School and later attended Kansas University and received his Master of Engineering. He worked in St. Louis as an aeronautical engineer. The pride of his life was his 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Regular family trips to Kansas and Nebraska as well as coaching and attending countless sporting events served to bind the family together. He will be remembered for his sincere interest in human rights, love of carpentry and travel. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him. Marvin is survived by his wife of 50 years Lynda Haynes Buss, children Michael (Mary), Jonathan (Catherine) and Matthew (Jane) as well as their children. He is additionally survived by his siblings Edward Buss, Luella Dick and Leota Ester. Services: First Congregational Church of Webster Groves, 10 W. Lockwood Ave., Webster Groves, MO at 4 p.m. on Friday, February 14th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to either the Peace Corps or Oxfam.
