Mary Reime Obituary

Reime, Mary (nee Geppert), age 81, passed away July 13, 2008 after a long illness. Mary is survived by her five children, David Reime (Catherine Backer) of Chicago, Illinois, Susan Reime (Joseph Leindecker) of St. Louis, Missouri, Mary Claire Thrift (Jack) of Jacksonville, Texas, Ann Saylor of Belleville, Illinois, and Elaine Wessel (Keith) of St. Louis, Missouri; her ten grandchildren, Sharon Thrift Nance, Jonathan Thrift, Laura Thrift Adams, Kathleen Thrift Parker, Brian Herbert, Andrea Nicole Saylor, Nicholas Saylor, Andrew Leindecker, Claire Leindecker, and Kyle Sommer; and her nine great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John and Cecelia (Kapps) Geppert, and her brothers, Eugene Geppert and Lawrence Geppert. Mary is survived by her brother Gerard (Dana) Geppert of Mobile, Alabama and her sister-in-law Eileen Geppert, of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Mary was formerly married to the late Carl Reime of Belleville, Illinois. Mary graduated in 1944 from the Academy of Notre Dame in Belleville, Illinois, and in 1947 from Le Clerc College. She was a teacher in the Belleville area for several years. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament parish, St. Teresa parish and St. Mary parish in Belleville, Illinois, and St. Joan of Arc parish in St. Louis, Missouri. She was active in local senior activities in south St. Louis, and enjoyed playing cards, photography, genealogy and working in her yard. Mary's wishes were to have her body cremated and her ashes buried near her parents in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Belleville, Illinois.Services: A Memorial Mass for Mary will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church, 8707 West Main Street in Belleville, Illinois, on Saturday, August 2, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. The Family invites all who knew Mary to share their remembrances at a luncheon following the Mass on August 2 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Visitor's Center at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, Belleville, Illinois.
