Max Hoadley Obituary

Hoadley, Max Lambertson passed away in St. Louis, Missouri on November 10, 2010 at the age of 90. He is survived by his wife, Helen Carr Hoadley, and daughters Karen Kirts of Annapolis, Maryland; Patricia Brownsher and Susan Taylor of St. Louis, Missouri; and Judy Bourquin of Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the grandfather to six and great grandfather to two. Born in Bozeman, MT, he lived on his family's ranch until the death of his mother. In his teens, he went to live with a sister in Erie, PA. Mr. Hoadley served in the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant during WWII and was part of the 1st Division's invasion on Sicily. After recovering from leg wounds received in the war, he was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star, and shortly thereafter returned to his bride in Erie. Max joined the sales force at Hammermill Paper Co. where he worked as a Regional Sales Manager at the time of his retirement in 1978. After raising their family, Max and Helen retired to Owensville, Missouri where they built two homes and remained for seventeen years. Later, they moved to St. Louis to be closer to their children and grandchildren, and eventually settled in Friendship Village in Chesterfield where they resided at the time of Max's death. Max and Helen were members of the Parkway Church of Christ. Services: Memorial service at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Interment private at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
