Michael Becker Obituary

Becker, Michael Lee A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Michael Mike L. Becker, 69, of St. Louis, Missouri, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, November 6. Mike was born in Belleville, Illinois, and moved to St. Louis to be closer to the love of his life. Mike held a master's degree in education and taught earth and science for nearly 30 years in the Francis Howell School District before retiring. Mike is survived by his wife of 24 years, Debbie Winter; daughter Jennifer Becker and husband Aaron Ringer, daughter Kelly Sim and husband Jason; son Steve Bancroft; son Greg Winter and wife Abby; and grandchildren Evann, Faith, Megan, Katie, Josephine, and August. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Stella Becker; siblings Louis Becker, Katherine Heuer, and Allen Becker; sons Benjamin Becker and Michael Lee Becker II; and grandson Jameson Winter. Mike proudly served as president of the Society of St. Vincent DePaul at St. Peter's Cathedral in Belleville. Mike was also a permanent fixture and great source of support to the Faith Academy of Montessori and the St. Louis Irish Arts communities. Mike was an avid Mizzou football fan and enjoyed fishing (especially with his father), hiking, camping, canoeing, building playhouses, and riding his motorcycle. Above all other interests, Mike loved helping friends and family by generously sharing his time and talents. There was never a task too big or distance too far that could stop Mike from fixing a lawn mower (or anything) or delivering a meal. Mike's generous spirit will continue to be an inspiration to all. Services: A memorial visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the memorial service at 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at AMBRUSTER Chapel, located at 6633 Clayton Road, Clayton, MO 63117. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to St. Louis Crisis Nursery or Heifer International.

Dear Debbie,
My heart is broken for you and your family. You have been a great inspiration to all of your Faith Academy students. Much of their success is due to your fabulous teaching. You have left your handprint on all of their hearts. Ill never forget my grandchildren's time at your wonderful school. I hope all those smiling children will help ease the pain of your loss.
