What shocking news and such a loss. For years, he was my best friend. His smile, laughter, sense of humor and caring will never be forgotten. May is soul finally rest in peace as he was always looking for "something". May your memories bring you comfort in the days ahead.

My family is very saddened by the news of Dr. Ernst death. We had the privilege to have known him as a doctor and a friend. He done wonderful things for our family as a doctor as He also done wonderful things for our family as a friend..We will truly miss him as both..He is in our hearts and in our memory's. He will carry on in spirit helping everyone of us who still need it...Sorry for your lose Kim and Alex

Dr. Ernst was my dad's alzheimer doctor. My dad felt so comfortable with him. And will sorely miss him. He made him feel okay.

To Kim, his children and staff: My husband and I have a had a sick empty feeling in our stomach since learning about this tragic news. We are simply saddened to the core. I was Dr. Ernst and the offices pharma rep from 2003 to 2006. Over the course of those visits and hysterical lunches I will cherish forever I shared my husbands problem with Adult ADHD and his being reluctant to seek help. Dr. Ernst saw Jeremy and instantly they became "buds." Jeremy would always come back from his appt's (just in March) and would have a great story about Dr. Ernst. I referred him to another friend who quickly felt the same way about him. He was able to make that connection with the macho "guy guys" when they wouldn't talk to anyone before. There is no replacement for him. As a person or a physician or a friend. Jeremy and I will miss him terribly and I'm not sure we will ever truly get "over" him not being here. Thank you for the laughs Dr. Ernst and for helping my husband and for all you did to help so many others. XOXO RIP

You was a great friend and a Doctor....We are glad you were and still are a part of our life.....We will greatly miss you but know you are still here with us in our hearts and memory's....We love you doc.....
Kim I am so sorry for your lose and if there is anything you need of us don't hesitate to contact....He was like a dad to me and i will never forget the things he did for me and my family.....

Dr. Ernst has been my son's doctor for several years. He was the first doctor that seemed to really care and to make a difference. My son has made so much progress because of Dr. Ernst. He was a wonderful caring person. He will be missed.

I just learned of this tragedy and i am very sad. Dr. ernst has helped me off and on for almost 15 years. I am truly saddened and shocked to hear of his death. My prayers and sympathy go out to his family, he really was a wonderful person. I am wondering if anyone knows exactly what happened though?

Dr. Ernst was an awesome doctor & person. One could connect with him & talk to him on so many levels. I still cannot believe he is really gone. Although I moved out of state, I saw him on visits to IL to keep growing. Because of him, I have come as far as I have. I doubt that I will find another doctor as dedicated or caring as he was. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, colleagues & other patients. amily.

So sorry for your loss. My teen was fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Ernst's a couple of years ago. What a blessing he was to us. You are all in my prayers.

I'm still in shock. He was a wonderful man and I never had care from a Dr. like him in all my life. He was GENUINE. Prayers are going out for all that was touched by this man.

We were so sorry to hear of your loss. It was such a shock to both Andy and myself. I will always be greatful to Mike for mentoring Andy. He was exactly the right person at the right time to help Andy through a rough time in his life and I know that Andy and I will never forget him. I still find it hard to believe that you are gone.Dr.Ernst helped me in so many ways and always made me see things in a different light. I've had my share of doctors and no one was as GENUINE and helpful. I'm so saddened by the loss.

My thoughts adn Prayers go out to the family, Dr Ernst was my Doctor and he was the best of the best. He was very careing and dedicated to his patients,I was so glad to be able to go back to him after he left the Alton area,it will be hard to find a doctor as dedicated to his patients as he was. May God bless and give strenght to everyone whos life he has touched and enriched. You will be sadly missed Dr Ernst.

Dr Ernst was the best Dr I had ever met! There was not another psychiatrist couselor or Dr that I could ever connect with like I did him. He helped me through one of the hardest times of my life and I dont know who I would be today, or if I'd even be here if it wasnt for him. I'm so sorry for his wife, children, family and friends. May God be with them in this difficult time.
