passed away on March 31, 2023 at the age of 72. He was the beloved husband of Tracy Pitts nee Obermoeller of Wentzville, Missouri; He is survived by his mother, Marion Atwell of O'Fallon, Missouri; step-mother, Eunice Atwell of Hillsboro, Missouri; sons, Michael Pitts Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri, Andrew (Melissa) Pitts of Kansas City, Missouri; step-son, Daniel Davis of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Emerson, Lillian & Bennett; step-brothers, Richard Atwell, Jr (Jens Hager) of Republic, Missouri, John (Amanda) Atwell of Columbia, Missouri; step-sister, Heidi (Chris) Coco of Chesterfield, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Denise (Rich) Ballentine of Fort Myers, Florida, Jeannie (Gary) Lange of Florissant, Missouri; nieces, Jaymie & Kristin, five step-nieces and nephews; lifelong friends, Jerry & Sandy Standeford, Kathy & Terry Haarmann, Bruce & Debi Elick, Runa Swofford and Joan Hearst. He is preceded in death by his step-father Richard Atwell, brother-in-law, Scott Obermoeller.
He loved the sight, smell and sound of the ocean, eating lobster, St. Louis Cardinals, fishing, dirty martinis with big olives made by Kathy and enjoyed spending time with his dogs, Maggie and Frank. He especially loved being PopPop to his grand babies. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Services: Visitation, April 29, 2023, 10-11:00 a.m.; Funeral Service, April 29, 2023, 11 a.m., Pitman Reception Center, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville, MO 63385.
