Mildred Connors Obituary

Connors, Mildred L. Age 91, died September 19, 2014 after a brief illness. Mil was born on April 5, 1923 in East St. Louis, Illinois to the late George and Mamie Williams. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Donald J. Connors, her sisters, Viola Williams and Dorothy Eurich and her brothers, Elmer Williams, Joseph Williams, Larry Williams and Harold Williams. Mil is survived by her sisters Mabel Rich and Lillian Gardner, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews from the Williams and Connors families. Mil loved, and was loved by, more friends and family than can fit into this small space. She was a beloved teacher, trickster, counselor, co-conspirator, and most of all, a Cardinals fan. She was a Precious Blood nun for 25 years and as such a dedicated teacher and librarian. She worked for many years as high school librarian in the St. Louis Public School system. Typical of her generous nature, Mil chose to donate her body to St. Louis University. Her family and friends will celebrate her life at St. Cronan's Catholic Church, 1202 S Boyle Ave, St Louis, MO 63110, on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the community of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, #2 Pioneer Lane, Red Bud IL 62278.

My sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with Mil's family. Mil and I were both members of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ in Ruma, Illinois. What I remember and will always cherish about her was her warm smile, impish laughter, and sense of humor. After we both left the community, we kept in touch and enjoyed occasional lunches together. Any time with her is a cherished memory. She is now reunited with Don, the love of her life. Together may they know God's joy, love, and eternal peace. See you again, Mil! Mimi Hunter
