For several years I taught second grade in the classroom next to Nancy's music room. Looking back, I realize how talented and special Nancy was as a person and as a teacher. She always hosted our staff May Day Celebration with a Maypole and all. Even though she was an avid Kansas Jayhawks fan, she still taught the kids Missouri Tigers chants; just for revenge. Ha! No, revenge doesn't describe Nancy. She was all about keeping the music alive. Years later, after retirement, she suggested that we get our group of teachers and principals together for a Meadows Reunion. We did this for quite a few years. She was, yes, an inspiration to all. Her children were only part of her greatest achievements. They are very talented and close to Nancy.

An awesome lady will be missed. Definitely my most remembered and most impactful teacher in my elementary years. She shined a lot of light and planted encouragement and inspiration in many lives. My condolences to her family, friends and fellow former students.
