Laks, Natarajan 'Bob', MD
age 84, passed away, Wednesday, October 13, 2021. He was born in Chennai, India and was a physician specializing in Psychiatry.
He is the beloved husband of Meenakshi Laks (nee Chellappa); dear father of Yamini Laks and husband Chris Georges; loving grandfather of Sunvi, Relle, and Anthos Laks-Georges; He was preceded in death by his son Deepak Kumar Laks.
Services: Funeral service at the FAMILY CENTER at SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Saturday, October 16, 2021, 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions preferred to West County Special Olympics. The family will receive friends following the service from 2-4 p.m. Friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.

Wow. Just saw the news of Dr. Bob Laks passing on. I met Dr. Laks and family in early 1980. Both Dr. Laks and Mrs. Laks were great hosts and took care of me when I was alone in Missouri. Spent several weekends at their home with the little baby. Lost touch with him may be 20 years ago. May his soul rest in peace...Ram

I enjoyed working with Dr. Laks in the habilitation setting. He was an excellent doctor who had a great rapport with the consumers and took the time to teach the members of behavior services about psychotropic medications and how they worked. I also enjoyed the stories he shared about his experiences.

Although I just met Bob this year, I felt a genuine connection with this highly intelligent, excellent conversationalist , and gentle man. And that was my impression after meeting him over Memorial weekend He is the father-in-law to my nephew Chris and felt like he was an instant family member to me. I was looking forward to getting together and solving life‘s challenges. Now I will see him on the other side. My deepest sympathies and may his memory be eternal.

I was very fortunate to have Dr. Laks as my supervisor at Malcolm Bliss Mental Health Center in the early 1970s. He was an excellent teacher and clinician. I shall always remember him and the psychiatric principles that he taught me.

I worked with Dr. Laks many years ago at Jefferson Mercy (it was called Jefferson Memorial Hospital back then). He was a joy to work with as he was respectful to all staff and patients. It takes a special person to work with mentally ill folks and he was that person.

Bob and I had enjoyable coffee brakes. My favorite was his story about how he became "Bob" during his residency. A very warm guy. Surely he will be missed. Dr. David Kraus
