To all of the Wanko Family - They broke the mold when they made your Dad, Grandpa & Great Grandpa. He was truly a one of a kind person and I'm envious of the truly remarkable friendship he and my Dad had for most of their lives! Friendships like Nick and Jack are rare these days.
I think back to our childhoods and all the wonderful times we all had when our families all got together! The fishing trips and BBQ's & fireworks and scary movies. The pigeon assassination! Ha! I hadn't thought of that in decades!! So many great memories, and mine are just a tiny fraction of the memories you all have of Nick! You are a lucky family!
I'm sure there are toasts being made all over the southside tonight, and at least one on the west coast! God Bless you all, God's Speed Nick.

May the Gates of Heaven open up and welcome Nick with open arms. Free of the burdens of physical life Nick lives on with our Lord and Savior. Grieve not for him but rejoice in his passage and the beautiful memories of Nick's life. Sweet Jesus please lay your consoling hands on the Family during this time amen.

I remember Mr. Wanko when I was a kid playing little league ball with Jimmy. What a wonderful man, leader and coach. My thoughts are with the family.

Nick Wanko was always there when I was a child to put a bicycle chain back on, helped in many ways like that & the Wanko's are such a wonderful family & Nick will be dearly missed. Mr Wanko was a man's man in my eyes.

Dad, you were truly the best dad, grandpa, great grandpa and friend ever. My heart breaks knowing I wont hear another funny joke, or get another hug from you. But I have so many beautiful memories from childhood through adulthood that I will always hold for ever and ever. Your beautiful smile, adorable lagoon blue eyes, but most of all ,all our fun times hanging out together. As we ended every phone call I will end this too.. I love you.... I love you too.... I love you three and four....... I love you more. ..... (RIP Dad ,I love you and miss you so much , love Denny)
