So much time and so much distance, but you remained an inspiration to me, Miss Ross, as do so many Rosary High teachers. You somehow brought history alive for us - no easy feat - while teaching us so much more. I wonder if you still had those Wizard of Oz Christmas ornaments ... Thanks, Miss Ross.

Ms. Ross was one of the most memorable teachers I have ever had, and someone I will always remember. She took a personal interest in her students and made each of us feel important. She will be missed.

Ms. Ross was one of the few teachers at Rosary High School who made me laugh and learn. She understood our lives as teenagers. Loved her classroom, next the the cafeteria. She's remembered in so many of our hearts. - John Q. Reynolds, class of '79

Ms. Nora Ross was my teacher and friend at Rosary. She was my homeroom pal as well. She taught my sister at Corpus Christi . Ms Ross put up with me. She always gave me a "heads up" when I was getting a "Dear John" letter, for unsatisfactory work. I ran for class president, partly because Ms. Ross, for several days kept telling me I needed to do it. When we won, we decided to have a victory party, at Ms. Ross's house. Of course, I didn't tell her. A lot of students, had to have been more than a hundred, showed up. Ms. Ross was worried, as was her mother. But everyone behaved, and we made all kids leave after 15 minutes. A small group of us stayed, and had fun with her that night. I remember her saying, Randant, you better never do that again. A small group of us, Bob Zeisler, Vince Grelle, Claire Zelinski, Mike Frazier, Mike the "rat", Pat Jandro, Steve Anzalone, and others I know I'm forgetting, ( the 70's have taken it's toll on me) actually used to go to Ms. Ross's house on occasion, and always had to be hush hush about it. Ms. Ross also attended many gatherings at my house, with Ms. Hourihan and Ms. Hanks. We had to keep that quiet too, Fr. McClain would not have approved. Ms. Ross was my friend, Ms. Ross was everyone's friend. Ms. Ross won't be forgotten. I wish I could tell her how I feel about her. Rest in peace, and thank you from my heart.

Nora,
Thank you for adding passion to what you taught and for your friendship. Not everyone can say they truly live their faith, but you are one of those rare jewels who sent so many out into the world with memories of how Christ must have taught. God Bless You

My thoughts and prayers are with Nora's family at this sad time. Please know that she will be dearly missed by all of us who were blessed with a wonderful teacher and friend. RHS, class of '77: I will cherish memories of Miss Ross, always smiling and always kind. I will never forget the St Louis History field trips. My son was in the RHS class of 2002, so I had the pleasure of knowing her again, as a parent. Although many years had passed, she always called me by name. May God hold you in the palm of His Hand, dear Nora!

As a writer, I'm at an absolute loss for words to express how sad I am to lose Ms. Ross, but I know she's in a much better place. What a great lady and friend...even for many years after graduation (1977) from Rosary! What a great soul, who created her own special history....

Ms. Ross was a truly gifted teacher. To this day, I still drive around town, pointing out the sites and teach my kids the things Ms. Ross taught to me in St. Louis History. She made history fun and interesting. My thoughts and prayers to her family.

My deepest condolences to Ms. Ross' family. I wish I had been a better student for her, but she was funny and caring, and I'll always remember her on our 1971 Corpus Christi Junior Senior trip to D.C. and NYC. What a great sense of humor she had dealing with us! She will stay in our memories and our hearts forever.

Ms. Ross taught one of my favorite subjects, history and she taught it with such passion that she had a way of making you want to learn more, even if it was a period of history that you had read about a million times before. I was also pleased to get to know her as a person, having car pooled with her (and my mom of course) to Rosary from time to time. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time. Her legacy will live on in all the lives she influenced. I hope that there is some comfort in knowing that she touched so many lives as a teacher and human being. Thank you Ms. Ross...once again thoughts and prayers from my entire family to yours!!

Corpus Christi High School was one of the best experiences because it was like a second family to all of us who went there. When it closed in 1973 there were few dry eyes amongst all of us, including Miss Ross. When she came with us to Rosary that next school year it was like the family was still together. She was a wonderful teacher and friend. She will be missed. Rest in peace Nora.

Miss Ross was a truly special teacher and person in so many ways. She cared for her students collectively, of course, but also individually. Here it is 10, 15, 20 years after graduation for some of us, and yet who has forgotten how she remembered each of us on our birthdays with Blow Pops or other treats? Who can forget her love of history and her tireless attempts to help us love it, too? Who can forget her humility, telling us she didn't think she was "Jeopardy" material when we all knew she could run away with the championship?
Thank you, Miss Ross, for your tireless love and dedication. May God accept you into His loving arms and may we all see you again some day.

Proof that God takes the great and amazing ones home! A woman who always had much to say about the past and probably did not have a clue as to how many futures she actually touched! It was because of her love for history that she bestowed upon me that I ended up with as a history major in college! May the peace of Our Lord be with her and her family always.
