Patricia Maynard "Trish" Martin

Patricia Martin Obituary

Martin, Patricia Maynard "Trish"

died on August 3, 2024, surrounded by people she loved and who loved her for the light she brought into their lives. Born October 6, 1946, in New York City, she grew up in Massachusetts and lived in Urbana, Illinois, before settling in St. Louis in 1989. She was always a New Englander at heart.

She earned a master's degree in early childhood education from Webster University in 1994 and loved her work teaching children. She had a natural elegance and a flair for style and beauty. She created jewelry, scarves, and wonderful sweaters for family and friends. She also helped people with her impeccable organizational skills as a clutter consultant.

Trish's innate kindness was evident in her ability to make and keep many friends throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bob "Rocky" Martin; sisters, Gale Maynard, Phyllis Maynard (spouse, Bill Toomey), and Valerie Maynard (Peter Ruderman); brother Guy Maynard (Shelley); daughter Stephanie Palmer Haines; son Jeff Palmer (Jen); stepchildren, Claude Martin (Karen), Katharine Martin Mohn (Randy), and Agnes Martin Laird (Martin); and nine grandchildren, some of whom lovingly called her Wobbie.

A memorial gathering is tentatively scheduled for Oct 6.

Our deepest condolences to Bob and the Maynard tribe. I can´t believe we wont be able to walk into their beautiful house/condo/apt (wherever they were it was always beautiful and comfy- and perfectly organized!) and be greeted by Trish´s warm welcome. Such a loss for the whole family.

May you all be surrounded by healing energy and loving memories.
Love,
Planet and Stevee

The Martins have been welcoming to me for all of my life that I can remember. When Trish married Agnes´s wonderful dad, we experienced it as a fairytale celebration. Trish was a fairytale person, so full of joyful kindness. The suitability of Trish and Bob Martin seemed to me like how peanut butter goes with jelly. We knew that Agnes had lucked out as much as her father because her family got to have all of that good energy. Agnes and I kept a slice of cake from their wedding to put under our pillow so we might dream of our perfect loves (not sure how the logistics of that worked as the memory is fuzzy). Trish used to remind me of that when I´d see her. <3

I hope that the joyful memories help to cushion the very sad loss of such a loving woman. So much love to all of you. - Sarah Hermes Griesbach
