Paul Lorenzini Obituary

Lorenzini, Paul G. passed away on November 30, 2017 fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church. The beloved husband of LaVerne Lorenzini (nee Oakes) for 51 years; loving father of Michelle Lorenzini (Michael Schumacher) and Karen Lorenzini; cherished grandfather of Timothy and Luke Lane; dearest brother of Jerry (JoAnn) Lorenzini. Predeceased by parents John and Ruth (nee Laumann) Lorenzini. Our dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, and friend. In 1970, Paul co-founded Packaging Consultants, Inc., a packaging distribution company. Bunzl PLC acquired Packaging Consultants in 1983. Paul then served as President, and later as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Bunzl North America for eighteen years. In 2004, he retired with the title of Chairman Emeritus. Upon his retirement, Bunzl honored his years of service by endowing a professorship in his name, the Paul G. Lorenzini Endowed Professor in International Business at Saint Louis University. After his retirement from Bunzl USA, Paul served as the Chief Operating Officer of Future Fuel Corporation until 2015 and continued as a member of their Board of Directors. Paul served as a Trustee of Saint Louis University for nineteen years. He also served on many Boards: St Anthony's Medical Center, Cascade Pacific Council Boy Scouts of America, and Norwood Hills Country Club. He also served as a Commissioner for the St. Louis Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority. Paul was a generous and passionate advocate of many charitable causes including Saint Louis University, Queen of Peace Center, the St. Louis Zoo, and St. Joseph's Academy. Services: Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 5 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Ortmann-Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, MO 63141. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 3628 Lindell Ave., St. Louis, MO 63108. Parking is available at Laclede Garage at the corner of Laclede Avenue and Grand Blvd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Louis University's Atlas Program, McGannon Hall Room 138, 3750 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108, Attn: Michelle Lorenzini or Queen of Peace Center, 325 N. Newstead Ave., St. Louis, MO 63108. Internment will be held following the funeral mass at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Kevin and Ellen O'Sullivan.
