Laura - I was shocked and saddened to read about Bob's passing. I cannot recall a single time, as our paths have randomly crossed over the years, that Bob wasn't with you. I am so sorry about the loss of your dear husband and best friend.

Although I hadn't seen Bob in many years, I could never forget what a great guy he was...smart, witty, creative, and the nicest guy you could ever meet. I was very saddened to hear of his passing.

Laura....I will never forget the first time I met Bob. Rich & I were at Tower Grove Park for a Clifton Heights Band performance over the 4th of July. We had blankets, wine & cheese, and you and Bob were beside us on the lawn. That must have been 15 or 20 years ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday. Needless to say, we have a lot of history behind us, and I am so saddened by Bob's passing. But our beautiful memories help sustain us. You are in my thoughts & prayers. You and Bob were a wonderful couple and I mourn his passing.

What an incredibly sweet man who has passed too soon. When I think of Bob I see his smile and twinkling eyes. I hear his soft voice and great laugh.I feel the warmth of his kiss on the cheek as he hugged me when we said hello. I think of the generosity of his love and affection for Laura, his family, friends and animals in his life. I see my watch that he repaired as a hobby and feel sadness in my heart for the loss of someone dear whose time ran out too quickly.

I've know Bob since I was a kid. I didn't know him really well while growing up, though he was the buddy of my best friend's older brother (Frank Mead Jr.). He was one of the older, cooler guys in the 'hood we kind of looked up to. Later, we both worked together at Washington University and he was a coworker I really enjoyed interacting with. So much so that I would go out of my way at times to see him. He was always fun to talk to, joke with, generous, pleasant to be around and had his own take on things that was always worth listening to. Though we haven't worked together for a few years now, I was alway glad to see him around the nieghborhood. He'll be truly missed by many of us.

What a sweet and wonderful neighbor/man he was. Not long ago, we had a family crisis and he baked us the most delicious lasagna, came down to ask if he could help... What a charitable, kind, sweet man. I am sure he is happy in Heaven. I am sad for you Laura, and we are here for you. You and Bob have always been sooo nice to know. Great neighbors. He will be missed and will always be in our prayers, as will you. Please come have dinner with us or something soon. We will stop over soon and see if we can be of any help.

There will never be another Bob. Smart, kind, generous and funny in his own quirky physics kind of way, he was also the rock upon which he and Laura built a truly loving, trusting marriage. He will be most sorely missed and never forgotten.
