Robert Schafler Obituary

Schafler, Robert T. (Bob) Peacefully on Saturday, July 28, 2012. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. In addition to his wife of 51 years, Ann L. Schafler (nee Prost), Bob is survived by his children: Scott Schafler (Lisa Sharp), Michele (James) Jacobs, Jay (Jennifer ~nee Schlag©) Schafler, grandchildren Matthew, Nicholas, Katelin, and David Schafler, and his brother Francis C. Schafler. Bob was an architectural draftsman for J.S. Alberici Constructors for 34 years. During his tenure, he participated in the design of numerous St. Louis and international landmarks. Since his retirement, Bob became an avid wood craftsman and enjoyed creating and gifting his projects to friends and family. During Bob's journey through life, his kindness and generosity touched the heart and souls of everyone. May he rest in peace knowing his loving family and friends will cherish and remember him always. He will be dearly missed. Services: The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 31 in Great Hall of Ambruster Chapel 6633 Clayton (Clayton) from 3-7 p.m. Funeral services 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at Ambruster Chapel. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. On line condolences at ambrusterchapel.com.

Sorry to hear of Bob's passing. You have my deepest sympathy. I know he was worried about retiring. I'm glad to hear he finally came to terms with it and enjoyed it.
