Rose Share Obituary

Share, Rose Louise

Was a dedicated wife, proud mother, and an active participant in the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. On May 17, 2025, she passed after suffering complications from a shattered hip at the age of 93.

Rose was the wife of an NBA player which meant often being a single parent to three young children while the team was on the road or long train rides while traveling with her husband and team.

Rose attended Bowling Green State University in Ohio, where she met her husband, Charles Edward Share. She was also a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority.

Rose lived for her family, friends, and horses. She taught her grandchildren how to host parties with grace and ease. Because of this tremendous ability her husband called her "the hostess with the mostest".

In childhood, Rose's love of horses blossomed. As a teen, she received her first horse, and that passion continued through adulthood. She shared that love of horses with her daughters and granddaughters. Both of her daughters rode American Saddlebreds but when her daughters stopped riding, Rose literally picked up the reins and began showing, as did her granddaughter. During this time, Rose and her husband formed Sylvan Edge Farms so she could enjoy all aspects of the horse world. She also served as an active volunteer for the National Charity Horse Show for years.

Rose's legacy is one of love, warmth, and compassion.

Services: Rose will be interred in Fort Wayne, Indiana, beside her husband and daughter, Sandra Ellen Share.

As a service of the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.

Rose was such a great lady. I appreciated her support of Saddlebreds shows and always enjoyed seeing her and watching her show as well as her grandchildren. She was always willing to help, even lending a show pleasure driving cart when needed. I still remember her helping her granddaughter show in a Shatner class following with a brush and a towel.

She was the most beautiful and elegant woman. She was a friend to all residents of Meramac Bluffs and was missed when she moved. She called me her ray of sunshine.

Rose was a very sweet lady and I always enjoyed talking with her at Ivy Chapel. She insisted on helping with luncheons, etc. I missed her when she went to assisted living. Kay

What an amazing woman and delightful person to talk with. She always had something positive to say about people and had a gentle way about her. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Rose: It all began in 1966 when you and Charlie welcomed the Dailey Family to St. Louis. The special friendship we shared and the many memories we made will never be forgotten. I love you. Trudy
