Great Grandma,
you were my friend for so very long. You did things with me that a best friend would do. We use to put makeup on each other, scratch each others back and go shopping together. These are the times that I will cherish the most. You and grandpa were always there for all of us when we needed you the most. I just wanted to say that I will never forget the wonderfull memories of those best friend moments we had together and because I never actually said this to you...I love you and always will. Here is my poem in rememberance of you.
The back bone of our family
Dorothy “Ruth” Edmiston
She played a different role in all our
lives, a mother, a sister, and a
grandmother,
she brought us joy when we had pain
she was the sun when it would rain.
She was the one who put the roof over our heads,
she was the one who tucked us in our beds.
She was the one you knew you could talk too,
she was the one who never failed to love you.
she was the one we all took to the store,
she is the one we will always adore.
she was the one who was always funny,
she is the one who slipped you some money.
she was the one that had curly hair,
she was the one with the rocking chair.
she was the one full of grace,
she is the one in a better place.
Your loving Great grandaughter
