INNA LILLA HAY WAA INNA ILLEHEY RAJAYOON.
From Almighty God we all come and to HIM we all have to return one day.
Brother Said Ibrahim Raziq was a great loving person, a compassionate personality, an affectionate and adoring father, a devoted and dedicated husband, a tender and caring grandfather, an understanding and outstanding friend, a generous and philanthropist helper, a wonderful and committed peer, a warm and gracious pal, a polished and shinning associate, a cultured and refined human being, a warm and caring companion and above all, a good-natured, dignified, cordial, hospitable, benevolent, fair, equitable and charming life member of the Islamic Foundation of the Greater Saint Louis area.
I first came to know brother Said Ibrahim Razik about 10 years ago just by chance or by a good stroke of luck. In fact, it was during the holy month of Ramadhan where I met him for the first time, when a small group of Muslims living in the Saint Charles country, Missouri, got together (in the absence of an Islamic center or a masjid) to offer their "Taraweeh Prayers" at the home of one of its members.
After our first meeting, we came to know each other pretty well mainly because of many similarities between our beliefs, ideology, thoughts, conviction, view-points and opinions.
Thereafter, we used to meet after the Juma (Friday) prayers first in the make-shift prayer area inside the church off the old Highway 94 and Muegge road in St. Charles, Missouri followed by the newly established Muslim Community Center of St. Charles located on the westwood drive off Highway 94.
The more I came to know him, the more I admired, appreciated, applauded and commended brother Said Ibrahim Raziq and his personality characteristics, distinct qualities, special attributes and specific skills.
He was always willing and able to listen to others, a unique trait which is dwindling and diminishing in the so-called modern and digital world of today.
He only spoke when explicitly asked to do so. He was a quiet person by nature but an excellent observer and a marvelous admirer of all good things.
He staunchly believed and firmly practiced the famous notion of giving credit where credit was due, irrespective of who the person, institution, firm or organization was. His modest, humble and down to earth profile made him a well-admired and well respected person in the society.
May God Almighty bless the departed soul of brother Said Ibrahim Raziq in the Jannatul Firdous (Heavens) and grant his family, relatives, friends, classmates, neighborhood and community members the fortitude and strength to bear the irreparable loss. Aameen, Tsum Aameen.

So sorry to read about this in the paper today. I add my condolences to the family. I recall Said very well. What was not noted in the obit is that he taught chemistry, part-time, at UMSL during the very early days of the campus. I joined there in 1966 so got to know him then.

Said was a good husband, father, grandfather, and a good man. It was our pleasure to have know him, and wish we could have spent more time together. I enjoyed several long talks while at family gatherings, and know how proud he was of his family. Ma'a as-salamah,Wa-Alaikum-Salaam.
