Jen and family,

I was just informed of Steve's passing. I am so sorry to be so late in sharing your grief with you. Steve was always a friend, always had a smile on his face, always willing to give the extra effort and always gave 100 percent to the cause! From his early days with the Hidden Valley Ski Patrol and to his help with the St. Louis County HMERT/WMD, Steve was always there for others! He always gave back to the community and that will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, my friend!!! God's blessing to Jen and the entire Grime's family and my personal thanks for sharing him with us for so many years!

You remain in my prayers,

Bill Brandes

To the Grimes family,
I am so very sorry about your loss. Many years ago I was part of a group of people that spent alot of weekends at Steve's cabin. Every single outing was entertaining and special. Those are memories that I will never forget and I thank Steve for providing those for me. I am sorry for pain he must have gone through but hopefully it will bring you all a little comfort knowing he will now be a special angel watching over everyone who was ever blessed to know him.

It was just last 4th of July we were all watching fireworks from the 12th floor of the Siteman Center. What a battle Steve ought! We are friends with the Bowlers from Springfield. May God give you strength at this time. Rest in peace Steve, we can see how dearly you are lived.

I remember the first time I met Steve at our Show N Share of firetrucks and I was at VP and he tod me I was next to be hired at Fenton ( he was wrong they hired AA.) He has given me so many good and funny memories and I will cherish the last 3 years I had to work with him. He was like my older brother and he always let people know what he thought of them, lol. I miss him singing and telling stories. Steve and Jen are the cutest couple I have ever seen. Steve save me a spot up there next to you because i want someone next to me to make m laugh

Its so hard to understand why loved ones are taken away early. I have to believe that God has a plan. Steve I will never forget you. We were so young when we met and I don't have a single childhood memory without you in it. Even though some of those memories are of you being mean to me, but thats what Brothers are supposed to do and that was you the brother me and my sisters never had. I only wish you could of met my family, as adults we always think oh there is plenty of time... now when I tell them of your passing I can tell them what an amazing man you were and how proud I am to call you my friend. Our thoughts, love and prayers go out to Jennifer, Mary, Craig, the rest of the family and all that knew this wonderful man. Vicki "Rutter" and Rex Pingleton

Oh I don't know where to start as Steve was an integral part as a friend during my teen years as he dated a close friend of mine and we all were together a ton. He was always kind hearted and just loved to joke around and tease but in a nice way.
Didn't see him for many years until in Fenton where I built a home and raised kids, he showed my son the fire truck and I saw this amazing man he had become. He said to bring kids by firehouse anytime, we chatted and laughed and he told me of his lovely wife.
Then we communicated again when we both were dx with cancer around the same time, it was Steve who encouraged me and letting me know all he cared.
Him losing his tough battle way to young is the hardest to understand, but I know God will grant him angel wings because that's the man he was a true angel, RIP and watch over us :)

I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love and friendship. Steve will remain in our hearts forever.
