Sudha Saha Obituary

Saha, Sudha Rani passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas, on May 16, 2016, with Nitai Saha, her loving husband of 52 years, by her side. Born in Bangladesh, they came to the U.S. together in 1964, with $16 to their name. Over the next 50 years, she touched the lives of countless people as a practicing OB/GYN, a philanthropist, a community leader, and a devoted mother to her son Som Saha, and her daughters Eva Daniel (Brian) and Shonali Saha. She fought for the last decade against Parkinson's Disease, with the grit and determination that defined her life. Her brilliant light shines on in the hearts of her husband and children; her grandchildren Pria and Shreya Daniel, and Kobi and Nikhil Saha; her brother and 6 sisters; and a multitude of friends and family. Services: Memorial services were held in Houston on May 18. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Houston Area Parkinson Society http://hapsonline.org/, the Vedanta Society of Saint Louis http://www.vedantastl.org/, or READ Global http://readglobal.org/, would be appreciated.

Dr. Sudha Saha was my Ob/Gyn for many years and was present for the birth of my first two children. She was a very caring, patient, gentle soul. She was also my Mother's doctor before mine.

Dear Saha family~Dr. Saha delivered my child, a girl, July 19th, 1990 @St. Mary's hospital. I remember when she picked the winning entry, for Raja, the elephant. What an awesome lady/OB/GYN. May your light continue to shine.

I'm sadden by the news. She helped my infertility and delivered by 2 sons. She was the best OB/GYN I ever had and have missed her very much! Peace to the family!
