Dear Pat and Vicky,
I am so sad to hear of your loss. I cannot imagine how you are feeling. It is always sad to lose someone we love but for someone who is so young and so much to live for. Please know that you are in our prayers

To Susan's Family,
My heart and prayers go out to you in this difficult time. I was a classmate with Susan at the JPII Institute. It was such a blessing to have known her. She was so kind and a beautiful woman in Chirst. Susan was a wonderful witness to the love and walk of Christ and she will be remembered.
May God bless you and keep you close to His heart,

I am so sorry to hear that Susan has died. May God welcome her into heaven. I had heard from Meredith that she was very ill. She was a very lovely young woman, a very special soul. I can only guess at how distressed her family and Dr. Schindler and others at the Institute must be. Eternal Life grant to her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her, may she rest in peace. Amen
I was praying for her recovery, now I will have to pray for those she left behind. My deepest sympathy to her parents.

Dear Shaughnessy Family,
My prayers go out to you and your family for this great loss. I met Susan during UD in our Rome semester and was impressed instantly by her kindness and peacefulness. She radiated love and happiness everywhere she went. I know she will be missed by all.

I had the blessing and privilege to meet Susan at UD. I got to know her better during the Spring 1998 semester in Rome and afterwards. I always knew she was a living saint among us and I am very thankful to you for allowing Susan to go to UD. The last time I saw her was in New York City back in the summer of 2001 and after that, we exchanged emails periodically. I know that Susan is now in the presence of her beloved Jesus, as a bride who rejoices with her groom; with Jesus the one she loved to the extreme. Be assured of all my prayers for all of you.

I went to UD with Susan. She truly was one of the dearest people I have ever had the privilege to know. I am so glad to have had the opportunity to reconnect with her recently on a business trip. I know that she was called back to her lord, and that she will continue to be a presence in everyone's lives who was lucky enough to have known her. I am so sorry that she had to leave so soon.

From what everyone has written in this guestbook, Susan was exactly the person I imagined she would become. Even at a young age, she had a mature, even enlightened, sensibility. She was thoughtful, sweet and unassuming. What a wonderful girl and what a blessing for each of us who had the privilege of meeting her.

I went to high school with Susan, and often sat in front of her or behind her in class, since our last names were so close in the alphabet. I will always remember her as a sweet, friendly and giving person. I have no doubt that she grew to be an even more amazing adult. My prayers are with you during this difficult time. Know that she will be with you always.

Dear PJ, Vickie, Patrick & Tom, I remember Susan playing in the playpen in the living room after Pat & Linda's wedding many years ago. She was such a sweet baby and seemed so content and peaceful even then. Over the years I heard from Pat & Linda about the remarkable young woman she became and the life she lived caring for others. I am deeply sorry to hear about your tremendous loss. Please know our thoughts, love and prayers are with you and your family.

We are grateful to have had such a sweet and faithful soul as Miss Shaughnessy, (as her students called her), for our son's first (kindergarten) Sunday school teacher 2006-2007. I'd bet (even though I knew her little) she was more ready than most twice her age, to go home to the Lord. She will certainly be in our family prayers.

Dear PJ and Vicki,
There was a song by the Buckinghams called "Susan". Lee Ann and the kids and I used to sing it when we lived next door. To this day, when I hear that song, I think of your daughter Susan.

Dear Shaughnessy Family,
I had the distinct pleasure of working with Susan with Exodus Youth Services on the streets of Washington DC. While she was smaller than most in stature she was larger than life on the streets. She was a real blessing to those children in DC and to all of us who knew her. I feel we all have a new advocate in heaven and I will be praying for her and asking for her prayers.
I wish you all the peace of Christ,

Dear Shaughnessy Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Susan is remembered by many people here at Washington Hospital Center, where we had the privilege of working with her for many years. Some employees here have remarked that Susan was 'an angel on earth'. She truly touched us all with her kind, gentle spirit and her strong faith. I hope the memories of your time spent with such a remarkable young woman bring you some peace during this difficult time.
God bless you.
