Teddye Costello Obituary

Teddye (Ward) Costello, 97, died after Easter on 3 April 2024 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she lived her last years. She was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, on 10 March 1927 to Mathilda Mae (Tracy) and Clyde Leeroy Ward and miraculously survived a tornado that year. Preceded in death by her parents, four siblings Jack, Arthur, Virginia and Lester, her son Kenneth Costello and her great grandson Evander Aarons; survived by two sons Stephen Aarons (Doris Valdez) and Thomas Costello, her nephew Scott and nieces April and Tammy, her grandchildren Ian Aarons (Stephanie), Hanna (Cody Holden) and Alexander Costello, and great grandchildren Asher Holden and Athena Aarons. A business owner, Teddye advocated for the developmentally disabled, founded Sunny Hill Camp for them and watched over one brother and her son until both passed. She was 90 years young when she rode a camel in the Holy Land with her church, Life Gate of Saint Peters, Missouri. Her dedication, intelligence, determination and dry wit will be remembered by all. There will be a memorial service in September at Valhalla Funeral Chapel on St. Charles Rock Road in Saint Louis.

Teddye was proud to be agile enough to ride a camel in her 90s, and others from her church had trouble keeping up with her as they walked through the Holy Lands. Truly a life well lived. PS there will be a short memorial service at Valhalla on St. Charles Rock Road at 10am on Saturday, October 12, 2024. It is a Jewish holiday and, after all, Jesus was a devout Jew!

Teddye you are dearly loved and missed.
Your strength and determination to succeed, was known by your shining armor. Your words were precise and welded from the faith rising out of the depths of your heart.
Such wisdom and understanding just flowed from you, like a fountain bubbling over to refresh others always.
Jesus was your first love, by His love you loved others so well. Because of this, we all believed we were your favorite.
Your life brought many trails and much hardship. But you refused to become bitter or to hold any unforgiveness. You always turned to Gods word and found your strength and held on to joy. Your laugh was contagious.
Your courage was admirable, as you kept your eyes on Jesus the author and the finisher of your life.
I loved to hear your stories, each one was testimony of how you over came.
You were a fire ball, quick wit and spunk kept you young at heart. Slowing down was never an option, you kept up with the young and didn´t miss a beat. You ran your race well!

This earth misses your authentic love and faith, but I know your step into eternity was beautiful. As you were greeted by so many you loved and your first love Jesus.
I dedicate and promise to continue to pray and believe for your family, each one will come to the knowledge of the love of Christ and find the peace you so dearly clung to. I know this was your hearts desire.
Thank you for your friendship and for loving like Christ. You were a world changer! I´m blessed to have known you and to be part of your life.

You are loved
