Thomas Doll Obituary
May 6, 1940 - March 21, 2025
Passed away at age 84 on March 21, 2025, with his family by his side. Beloved husband of 61 years to Jeanne Doll (nee Kurz); father to Jim (Jo) Doll and Jenny (Tom) Korte; and grandfather to Carter, Lucas, and Ethan Doll and Olivia, Jack, and Margaret Korte; also a cherished brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. The second eldest of six, Tom was born in St. Louis but spent many happy years of his childhood in Springfield, Missouri. As a teenager, he moved back to St. Louis with his family. He graduated from St. Mary's High School and began his undergraduate studies at St. Louis University. Tom joined the US Air Force and served his country proudly for 4 years, including overseas in Taiwan. He married his high school sweetheart, Jeanne. Tom finished his undergraduate degree in geography at St. Louis University and later earned a master's in business from Webster University. He continued serving his country as a cartographer for Defense Mapping Agency (federal government) for over 30 years. Tom loved spending time with his wife and family, especially his six grandchildren. He also had many interests and home projects, particularly woodworking and photography. His family cherishes the many handmade wood items he crafted for them. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.

I worked with Tom for many years at the National Geospatial-Imagery Agency (NGA), previously DMA. Tom was a quiet, soft-spoken, warm, and thoughtful man with a good sense of humor. I always enjoyed working with him, and especially liked catching up with him after we retired at Don Poff's Old-Timers' Reunion picnics every year. I will remember him fondly, and I pray for peace and contentment for his family, knowing that now they have another guardian angel watching over them.
