Mr. Cerutti was my 6th grade teacher at Mt. Hope Elementary school in O'Fallon MO, 78'-79'. Along with Mr. Bradley, the other 6th grade teacher, I never knew two more popular teachers in my life. I always wondered where Mr. Cerutti went once he was no longer at Mt. Hope and how he was doing. I wish I searched sooner, as I would have liked to see him one more time.

Prayers and condolences to the Cerutti family. I am very sad to hear the news. Mr. C was my 6th grade teacher at Green Trails awesome person, and humble spirit, and had compassion for each student. He will always be in my heart as a teacher that changed the outlook of my life just by his kind actions, and his infectious laugher and smile. RIP Mr. C. Robin Former GT student

Mr Cervtti was my teacherin 6th grade 1980-81 class--my favorite teacher. He not only taught school, but also taught life long lessons. The Princess Bride is still my favorite book, not because of the story, but because it reminds me of Mr Cervtti and the lessons he taught. Mr Cervtti made the world a better place.

I was Tim's student in his first year at Green Trails. No one knew what to expect from the "new teacher" but his skill, leadership, infectious energy and caring were apparent from day one. The year I spent in Tim's 6th grade classroom opened a new world to me because he dared us to dream. He remains one of the greatest influences in my life and I still think of him many decades later. I recall that he wrote in my yearbook that he was privileged to teach me, when in reality it was our greatest privilege to learn so much about life from this amazing man. Rest in peace, Mr. C. Barbara and family - my deepest condolences and thank you for sharing Tim with his many generations of students. He changed all of our lives.

I was lucky enough to have Mr. Cerutti as my sixth grade teacher at Green Trails School in 1981. The books he introduced us to-The Princess Bride, Watership Down, The Hobbit, Where the Red Fern Grows-and the way he read from, them was magical. He was also an incredible sports instructor in the after school programs he ran. I can still remember him asking teams before a game began to call head´s or tails to decide who started with the ball or batted first. He never had a coin-you just learned to always call heads. Truly a great guy.

Mr Cerutti was my 6th grade teacher at Green Trails. Such an inadequate statement for conveying the impact he has had on my lifelong intellectual curiosity. He stands out among amazing educators I´ve been blessed to experience - Joe Nye and Simon Schama at Harvard, Lester Thurow at MIT, to name a few. He was the best kind of teacher - not because he knew everything, but because he wanted us to know everything, all the things. He taught us pre-algebra in 6th grade. He read us The Hobbit. He taught us how to juggle. He taught us how banking worked by creating a mini economy in his classroom where we "earned" a paycheck by doing tasks (I was a banker) and then paid for things he would bring in with checks that he taught us to fill out from our "accounts". In 6th grade! And as far as I could see, he made this curriculum up himself. We were so lucky. He was an outstanding unforgettable educator. My thoughts and heartfelt prayers go to his family. He will be sorely missed.

I'm a parent of a student from Green Trails and Parkway Central. Mr. Cerutti was such a wonderful, caring teacher that I will always remember him. I volunteered and the school and had hoped that he would be my son's teacher. When the did the middle school split that was not possible, but he remembered the students from Green Trails and was still there for them. I remember him helping my son, who was not one of his students, but he cared for all the students. He was available to help them, care for them, encourage them. I extend my sympathy to his wife, children and grandchildren. I know he will be missed.

Mr. Cerutti was my 6th-grade teacher at Green Trails. He always had the kindest smile and I remember how much I was challenged (in a good way) by being in his Reading class. He was soooo much fun at 6th grade camp as well. Little did I know, how the education world was so small. I attended and graduated from Harris-Stowe and the woman who always took care of me and checked in on me, Ms. Beeson, was also his instructor at Harris-Stowe as well. My life as an educator is so much richer having known and learned from Mr. Cerutti.

From when I first met Tim at Harris Teachers College, I saw that he was as genuine as they come. The first impression that he made on anyone is the one that stayed with them, because he was always the same. My condolences to you and your family, Barb.

e was a good coach and always had a smile on his face. As a young umpire I love umpiring the Webster Groves Softball team because I always looked forward seeing him there. I remember seeing him smiling whenever our umpiring crew came onto the field. He will be missed and I will miss him. He was such a good coach and also a good guy to be around with.

Mr Cerutti was my favorite teacher. Reflecting just now I realize he was only part of my adolescent life for 1 1/2 years but made such an impression. He got in trouble from the nuns at St Boniface because our 8th grade Play had the word Hell in it. Ill never forget his awesome reaction (like really!?). He was also my softball and hockey coach (I was awful in sports and gladly I was able to laugh about it many years later with him).
In the late 80s Mr Cerutti volunteered as a consultant when I worked for the Cardinals/STL Museum (for an educational program). This is also when I found out he had MS (he said he was running bases playing softball and his foot dragged). I wish we would have stayed in touch. RIP Mr Cerutti.
