William F. "Bill" Bischoff Jr.

William Bischoff Obituary

Bischoff, William Bill F. Jr. Bill moved on to a better place on Saturday, November 20, 2010. He went to a place where his heart was again as strong as his love of life and his breath comes as easily as his love does. He is survived by his wife and the woman he adored and loved for more than 51 years of marriage, Sharon Bischoff of Ballwin, MO. Bill was the loving father of Todd Bischoff, Tim Bischoff, and Beth Bischoff-Thomas, father-inlaw to Nancy (Umbright), Beth (Gabrielson), and Charlie Thomas. He was a loving grandfather to Hannah Bischoff & Samantha Bischoff, Alissa Bischoff & Bridger Bischoff, Levi Thomas & Emma Thomas. He was preceded in death by son Jeffery Bischoff. At about the age of 10, Bill went to live at a horse farm that raised trotters and pacers. He learned about life on a farm and his summers were spent traveling around the racing circuit to state fairs. After graduating from High School as the Senior Class President and the Football Captain, he enlisted in the Army. Once he was in the Army, he was stationed in Fulda, Germany as part of the Occupation Forces guarding the Russian border. Following his military service, Bill went to College at Eastern Michigan University. He eventually entered the world of travel with Eastern Airlines in Detroit. This career led to his association with Maritz Travel. This job eventually moved the family to the home headqusarters in Fenton, MO. Bill Bischoff was not only a great father and husband, but also a great business man. He had a great reputation in the Corporate Travel Business World. He was innovative and creative in his field. If someone said it could not be done, he said let us figure out how. He was the Manager that all of us wished we worked for. Services: As were Bill's wishes, there will be no funeral. A party will be held to celebrate his life. If you would like further details, please contact Tim's wife Beth at 618-997-4340 or at [email protected]. For planning, please contact and confirm by December 4th. In the spirit of how he lived, the Bischoff family requests friends and family share messages of a fond memory, the joy he brought, or what Bill meant to them at the Schrader Funeral Home's on-line guest book at schrader.com. These sentiments will become a book of joy for his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill Bischoff's memory to the following causes which Bill and Sharon hold dear: the Peruvian-American Medical Society, Cajamarca Mission, 6488 Tamerlane Drive, West Bloomfield, MI, 48322 or to the Manchester Shop With a Cop, P.O. Box 825, Manchester, MO, 63011. A service at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory.

To the Bischoff Family, My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. I have VERY fond memories of working with Mr Bischoff at Travelers Service...later Maritz. He was truely a joy to be around. He neve had a bad word to say about anyone, and was an inspiration to me. God's speed to you Mr Bill, you WILL be missed.
