Jim Terzi Obituary
Jameel "Jim" Terzi, 66, passed away peacefully, with his wife at his side. He was a devoted husband, loving father, skilled engineer, and a man who brought energy, and quiet humor into every room he entered.
Born in Kirkuk, Iraq on January 9, 1959, to the late Zain Hassan Terzi and Eleanor Marie Capps Terzi, Jim moved to North Carolina at age four; he spent his childhood in the southeastern United States. He graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in New Orleans, then earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Tulane University. A natural problem-solver from a young age, Jim had a passion for fixing things, which led him to a successful career as an electrical engineer spanning over four decades. His sharp mind and hands-on approach made him not only an expert in his field but also the go-to guy for friends and family in need of a repair or a helping hand.
Jim was married to the love of his life, Lori Terzi, for 35 years. Together, they raised two sons, Ian and Kenneth Terzi, who were the center of his world. He was endlessly proud of them and cherished every moment spent with his family.
Jim is also survived by his sisters Becky Bennett (Troy) and Susan Puglisi, and his brother Errol Terzi (Billie). He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joel Terzi, whom he deeply missed.
Jim's energetic spirit extended beyond work-he loved watching YouTube repair videos, riding motorcycles, and spending quality time with his sons. Known for his quick wit, Jim had a great sense of humor that brought joy to those around him.
He will be remembered not only for his technical brilliance but for his kindness, his unwavering support of those he loved, and the legacy of love and laughter he leaves behind.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 4:00 p.m., at P. L. Fry & Sons Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca, CA 95337, where friends and family are invited to share memories and honor a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jim's memory to support Benjamin Franklin High School in New Orleans, Louisiana: https://www.bfhsla.org/giving
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
