June Jannet Watson

June Jannet Watson, age 85, of Lodi, CA, passed away on 9/14/25 at 8 PM PST. She was born in California on June 3rd, 1940 to the late Margaret and Joe Ortez. She had five children, Joe, Ed, Buzz, Dwayne and her beloved daughter Mary. She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was one of 12 siblings and loved by all. June was a woman of fierce loyalty and a loving heart, she was known for her sassy spirit and her unwavering devotion to her family. Her kitchen was always the heart of the home, a place where she lovingly cooked for anyone and everyone, ensuring no one ever left hungry. She didn't come from much and yet her warmth and generosity extended to her large family, whom she treasured above all else, and who will all carry the traditions of food and family going hand in hand in her honor. She was the matriarch of a large and loving family, a role she embraced with a unique blend of tenderness and devotion; you didn't have to be blood to be seen as family to her. Her love was a force of nature, and anyone who knew her loved her. She had an immense, loving heart and a family-oriented mindset that made her the foundation of everyone's lives. She will be remembered for her sharp wit, her incredible generosity; especially at Christmas time with her hand made or hand selected gifts, and the way she made every person feel like family. She is at peace in heaven now with her son Joe, her sisters and brothers, and her parents. SERVICE: Her Service is an open service to all who knew and loved her with a viewing at 12 PM PST on Monday 9/22 followed by a 1 PM burial service at Cherokee Memorial Church and Funeral Grounds, along with a celebration of life at a friend's residence.
