Mario Hieb Obituary
Mario Joseph Hieb, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and cherished friend, left this world too soon on April 14, 2025, at the age of 40. Born on November 16, 1984, Mario lived his life with an open heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering generosity.
He is survived by his mother, Joann Hieb, and her fianc, Julio Bandoni; his brother Dino Hieb, his sister-in-law Lauren Hieb, and their daughter Rylan; and his sister Steffani Hieb, along with her children Gianni, Austin, Noah, and Gracie. Mario was "Uncle Mario" not only to his nieces and nephews, but also to countless friends who loved and admired him as part of their extended family.
Mario was raised in the Catholic faith, attending St. Bernards Parish, and later found joy and community at Mission City Church, where he was known for his deep devotion and quiet spirit. His educational journey led him through Banta Elementary, Tracy High School, and, ultimately, the Columbia College Fire Academy, where he graduated.
A true outdoorsman, Mario loved fishing, four-wheeling, jet skiing, and dirt biking. But more than his hobbies, it was Marios selflessness and giving nature that truly defined him. He had a knack for fixing or building just about anything, but what set him apart was his constant willingness to help otherswhether they were family, friends, or even strangers.
Those who knew Mario will forever treasure his infectious laugh, the unforgettable "Signature Mario chuckle," and his boundless heart that brought comfort and joy to all who were fortunate enough to be in his presence.
Marios legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the memories he made, and the love he gave so freely. Though we must say goodbye, the memories of his big heart, adventurous spirit, and generosity will remain with us forever.
Services will be held at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central Avenue on Thursday, May 1, 2025; a rosary service honoring Mario will be held at 1:30 p.m. followed by a memorial service celebrating his life at 2:00 p.m.
