Rick "Rickie" Wong

Rick "Rickie" Wong was born on May 20, 1959, in Hayward California to his parents Chuck Wong and Maltilda Poon. He passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, in Modesto, California, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a devoted father, proud Papa, loving brother, and uncle whose humor and warmth brought joy to everyone around him. Rick is survived by his daughters, Nicole (Rich) Snyder and Emmie (Eric) Giron, and his stepchildren, Larry (Rosa) Catano and Vicky (Robert) Martinez, as well as his sister, Nancy (Eric) Griffin, all of whom had a special place in his heart. Family meant everything to him, and he adored all his eight grandchildren: Micah, Melanie, Lexi, Asher, Rachelle, Zeke, Dylan, and Mason. He could often be found at their sporting events or celebrations, cheering them on with a proud smile. Known for his outgoing nature, Rick truly never met a stranger. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and always had a joke or story ready to share. He loved cooking and teaching his family how to make his favorite dishes-you could always find him by the grill or in the kitchen. Some of his favorite cuisines were Hawaiian, Asian, and Mexican-really anything that brought people together around the table. Whenever he could, Rick loved planning trips to Hawaii or Disneyland. Hawaii held a special place in his heart, and it meant so much to him to visit again this past June. His friends and family meant the world to him, and he will be deeply and forever missed. P.L.
