Roderick Souza "Rod" December 4th, 1967 - September 23rd, 2025 Roderick Souza, beloved husband, father, son, brother and "Pop," passed away on September 23, 2025, at the age of 57 in Hughson, California. Born in Mountain View, California, Rod built a full and meaningful life centered around family, hard work, and a deep passion for all things fast and loud. He owned and operated his own heating and air conditioning business, proudly serving his community with the same dedication and reliability he brought to every part of his life. Rod was never happier than when he was building or racing drag boats and hot rods-his true joys outside of his family. His love for speed was only matched by the pride he took in being a devoted husband to Shannon, a loving and supportive father to Tyler and Jonathan, the world's best "Pop" to his grandchildren, Hudsyn, Heath, and Hallie, a caring son to parents Roderick and Betty and an older brother to Jeff. Rod will be remembered for his loyalty, warm heart, easy smile, and the way he showed up for the people he loved-every single time. A viewing and rosary will be held at Fry Memorial Chapel in Tracy, CA, on October 8, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with the rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place the following day, October 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Tracy, CA. Rod leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and horsepower. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
