Curtis Locklear
PEMBROKE — Mr. Curtis (Curt) Locklear, 78, of 1278 Melinda Road, went to be with the Lord after an extended illness on July 9, 2015. He was born April 12, 1937.
Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Island Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Pete Bryant and Athlee Locklear; grandparents that raised him, Mary and Johnny Locklear; four children, Peggy Rosa, Curtis Jr., Bobby Ray and Christopher Lee.
He was the oldest of both sets of children. His mother Athlee Locklear had ten and his father Willie Peter Bryant and step-mother Florence Bryant had two boys and nine girls.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 54 years Geraldine Locklear; two sons, Curnice Lee Locklear and wife Janice Locklear, and Ricky Locklear and wife Denna Locklear; two daughters, Lisa Suarez and special friend Willie Locklear and Teresa Carol Locklear and special friend Bruce Cummings, all of Prospect; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was a wonderful husband, daddy, father-in-law, grandfather and friend. He was a man of God.
