Joseph Jacobs Obituary

Joseph Jacobs
Coldwater - Joseph "Joe" Wayne Jacobs, 72, of Coldwater passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 28, 2021 at 11:00AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 2-4:00PM at the funeral home.
Joseph was born April 17, 1949 to Charles S. and Helen J. (Summers) Jacobs in Chicago, IL. He married Judie Rinehart and she preceded him in death. Joe had honorably served his country in the United States Marines during the Vietnam conflict; upon his return home he was awarded the Purple Heart and though his service was completed, his duty to his country never stopped. He had served many groups that catered to his fellow veterans such as the American Legion in Bronson, F.A.F.S.O.M., the U of M Buddy to Buddy Program, Vet to Vet program with Battle Creek Veteran's Affairs, the Veteran's Advocacy Council for Battle Creek Veteran's Hospital, the Veteran's Council for the Dowagiac Armory, and had also served as Chaplain for both the Coldwater Marine Corps League and Fire Base Freedom. Joe's dedication to his country was matched only by his services in the name of the Lord; he was a minister for over twenty years where he served the lives of many. Joseph had also been a skilled carpenter throughout his varied career, but his greatest achievement was his family. On September 9, 2016 he married P.J. Adamski in Cartersville, GA and she survives. He was loyal and loving husband, father, and grandfather that will be missed by all.
In addition to his wife P.J., Joseph is survived by his children James (Jeri) Stauffer of Thompson, GA, Patrick (Cheryl) Stauffer of Willis, TX, Patricia Stauffer of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Zabrina (David) Atkison of Marietta, GA; his many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his special family Michael Wilson, Eric Wilson, Bob Hout, Dana Rifenburgh and his many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Judie, and one son Robert Stauffer.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Church of the Holy Spirit, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to the Branch County Veteran's Affairs.
