My son, Jerod and Shari's son, Joe have been friend since Jr. High School. Joe would call me his step mom. Shari was always so kind to my sons. They were adventurous and always doing something crazy. May God bring comfort to Shari's family.

My heart breaks for Shari's family. I have so many memories starting in 1987 when Shari and my mom poured peroxide on my knee after flipping over the handle bars of my bike. I will continue to keep the Closson family in my thoughts.

I was Sharon favorite brother and as I try to recall special stories that happened during our youthful days one kept coming back to mind. Sharon first started driving she was allowed to take the old "59" ford and go where ever it was she had said. Dad happen to check the mileage on the car and found out she drove a lot more miles then she had said, so I'am sure she got in some kind of trouble. The next time she got the car "where ever she went" she backed all the way home because that took the miles off the car. That to was questioned when she left and after returning home the miles were still the same. I always thought that was a great idea but I never had a chance to use it. We had many great times and many great memories I would not ever want to change. Love You!

I will never forget all the fun times we had as a family getting together at your house in Garrett. All the fun times we had playing back in the creek, climbing thru the old log behind your barn. Aunt Sharon was always laughing and joking with everyone and her laugh was very contagious. She always had a smile on her face and every time I would see her she would make sure she asked me how I was doing, She always had a smile for my children when we would visit everyone at the camp ground. That's what I will miss most is her smile. Love you Aunt Sharon, give Grandpa a big hug for me.
Amber has a better way with words than I do, on Monday when Shari was in the Hospital Amber spoke a prayer and sent it to my mom, Grandma requested a copy and I thought I would post it here as well:
"Dear Heavenly Father I want to lift Sharon up to you right now. You have seen the battle she has fought for many years and the battle she is still fighting. I pray in your holy name that you would just let her rest and fall gently in your loving arms. She is surrounded by loved ones that are watching her fight. Please father give them each an angel to surround them in peace as their wife, mother, grandmother would leave this world and enter your mighty kingdom. I pray all these things in Jesus' great and merciful name. Amen!"
Granddaughters
July 24, 2017
Grandma was a title that she wore proudly and everyone knew it. She talked about her granddaughters fondly and often. People we have never met immediately recognized us from pictures she showed them or the stories she told.
Each granddaughter held a special part in her heart, and she will always hold a very special part in ours.
Grandma was our biggest cheerleader and made us all feel so good about each of our accomplishments, from graduating kindergarten to college and every other thing. She made all of us feel so special, and always made sure we were treated equally.
She has started traditions I know we will all continue when we have our own grandchildren. Every holiday was so special at grandma and grandpas house, from our fun Easter egg scavenger hunts, to our Christmas advent calendars, and our birthday dinner and sleepovers.
Grandma spoiled us with gifts and treats as much as she spoiled us with her love. She has always shown so much love for all of us.
Grandma showed us how to treat others with kindness and respect.
Most importantly, grandma taught us to love. She taught us to love friends, showed us how to love our family, and showed us how to love in a marriage. Her and grandpa will be the love we will all aspire to have. Those two loved each other more than anything and we all could learn something from them. Grandma we will always think of you with love in our hearts like you always have with us, and we will always remember all the great memories we have of you. Thank you for being our grandma. We will always love you so much and miss you more. You will always be with us every where we go, each success we have we know you would have been proud and cheering us on. We will continue to make you and grandpa proud.

When my first baby came along I really wanted a little girl and God gave me you. I was so happy and you have been such a joy to me for 67 years. I have really enjoyed all the things we have been able to do together. I still remember the trip we were able to take together out west. That was so much fun!
I will always cherish all the times you took us to Florida or came down to get us. My memories of you are a mile long! I remember when you and Sandy went for a Sunday drive and ended up at the hospital in FL, when Dad was there. Wow that was such a surprise!
I am so glad I got to spend three weeks with you and Joe that winter after Dad died. It was a privileged to get know your friends. We have had so many great shopping trips. I will think often to all the times you would pick me up and take me to lunch in Shipshewanna. Those were special times!
I will definitely miss all your phone calls. It was always so good to hear from you and what was going on in your life.
You gave us our very 1st grandchild. Ann gave us our very 1st great grandchild. What a blessing. The list could go on and on. I will miss you so much! You brought me so much joy while you were here. I hope you and your Dad are having a great time. Give him a hug for me. I love you!
Love,
Mom

Although I never met Shari, I know all of her siblings and nieces and nephews on the Miller side. I just wanted to let you all know I am so sorry for your loss and praying for you as you go through this difficult time. I read the other posts, and it sounds like she was a very fun lady. Hold on to those memories and create new ones together that would make her smile and laugh.

When I think about Sharon I remember her laugh. She had fun wherever she went and you were guaranteed laughs. I'm so thankful that we have many memories to remember her by especially at my bridal shower. She was making people laugh by asking Donna if she was going trying to get aunt of the year. I'm so sad that she will be missing my wedding my wedding. She always made effort to go to all family events and that was always something so special. I remember when my graduation got cancelled and moved to the following day and she still came back to watch me. She loved and cared so much about her family and I hope to be able to live my life more like she did. I will miss her dearly and family gatherings will never be the same. I love you all Closson's and Musser's!

I have many happy memories of growing up as your little sister. Going on vacations together as a family(Mom and Dad always made sure we went somewhere for summer vacations) and later our motorcycle trips on the midnight ride and almost freezing even though we had on almost everything in our suitcase. Walking around Mackinaw City and losing you, Joe ask where's my wife and I'm entirely too all to break in a new one! I lloved the fact I could always call whenever I had a medical question. Thanks for all the memories and good times! I love you and I'm going to miss you so much!!!

Many of my earliest memories have Joe and Sharon, I can still hear everyone chanting "Whirlpool, whirlpool!" as we whirled around their pool. I can remember trips to the Fort Wayne Mall with the ice skating rink. I always loved to hear my mom talk with all of her sisters when they would get together. Even though Sharon lived far from everyone, the aunts never seemed to grow apart. There was always giggling, and I loved to hear Sharon laugh. I always loved to go to their house and play in the creek. Sharon was a wonderful host, and I can still see her working hard to get all the food set up for one of the Borkholder reunions. I remember how much love she had for all of her grandchildren. She took special care to make sure they each felt special. At my wedding, I had Lindsey as my flower girl. Tiffany and Ashley handed out programs, and Sharon made sure their dresses were just as special as Lindsey's. I was so touched by that. There were many phone calls made to Sharon about our medical questions. She was always happy to help, and would put our minds at ease about what we should do. I am so very blessed to have had the opportunity to grow up with Sharon and all of my aunts and uncles. They all showed me how to truly enjoy spending time with your loved ones. Sharon and Joe were a big part of that. We're sending much love to all of the family!

I have many wonderful memories of all the things we did together. Our trip that your gas gage said 0 miles and we still went several miles. Our trip down the pine river in a canoe, following Joe and Gary on their homemade raft. You, Doris and I were in the same canoe. We passed some guys we didn't know, who asked if we were twins. We told them no we're triplets. They said if they caught up with us we would be wet triplets. We laughed so hard. Life gave you many hardships, but you always fought your way back, I was hoping and praying that you would beat this one too. The love for your family and the pride in your 6 beautiful granddaughters. You were the best big sister ever! I'm going to miss you so much. I love you! Until we meet again.

She will be missed. Great memories from shopping in Fort Wayne at the mall with the skating rink, eating at Bandidos afterwards, she loved the stuffed peppers, pool parties at their house closer to Fort Wayne, going to the zoo, and motorcycle rides including a few big ones to Mackinac Bridge. We loved it when cardboard Joey came to our wedding. Even though Joey was in Iraq he was everywhere. Her love for her family and friends could be seen through her actions and her smile on her face. Every time Karine puts out the Halloween decorations at work, she is reminded of her compassion and love. Thank you for those donations. Your love for the holidays will continue.

We have so many great memories with our sweet Aunt Sharon. The Bacon boys have so many awesome times back camping with you. The super fun yet highly annoying songs you taught the boys! Thanks for that! Isaiah will carry on the the tradition of Little Cabin in the Woods. We still have yet to catch that darn wood fairy! Bryce says I am going to miss her giving me swiss miss rolls and her delicious pasta salad! Kaden says I already miss my Aunt Sharon and I will miss singing with her. Elijah says he will miss driving Aunt Sharon nuts with "fire, fire, fire save the hostages toy guns!" All the many times of laughing hysterically around the camp fire. Your many burns on Roger made him feel like he had two mother in laws! Or all the times you joined my parents in embarrassing the snot out of me as a teenager. How about Hot, hot, hot or chill's baby back ribs at the top of your lungs in public! You have challenged me to make sure to embarrass my kids as much as possible! Anytime the phrase every single day is spoken I will think of you. Especially how Uncle Joe so lovingly cared for you and stayed by your side every single day! And told Kaden that He loves you every single day! We are sure going to miss your sweet smile and your laugh! You brought so much joy to our family! We all look forward to hugging you and Grandpa again in Heaven.

Words are not enough to express my feelings for my wonderful sister and friend. I will cherish all our memories of crying and laughing so hard we wet ourselves. All of our great motorcycle trips, talks, and laughs. Thanks for all the funny camp fire songs and stories. I will also miss your voice texts when your words get turned around and turn very inappropriate. All our shopping trips that YOU won! I will always laugh when I think about when I helped you after your first stroke and you said"Hahahaha you have my underwear in your mouth." I love you to the moon and back, and I am going to miss you my dear friend! I will see you when I get to heaven, where you are walking straight and your smile is complete. I miss you like crazy!
