Aleedor Ogea Obituary

Aleedor Ogea, 84, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the American Legion Hospital in Jennings.
Mr. Ogea was born November 14, 1926, near Mamou, Louisiana. He was a resident of Sulphur from 1937 to 2008 and lived in the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings for the last three years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and during the Korean War.
Mr. Ogea was a welder, loved football and was a loyal fan of the Sulphur Golden Tors, McNeese Cowboys, and the New Orleans Saints.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joycie May Istre Ogea; his parents, Regile and Evelia Naquin Oge; his foster parents, Cornelius and Eunice Vidrine; and two brothers, Herring Oge and Harrison Ogea.
He is survived by two sisters, Audrey Bailey of Lecompte, Louisiana, and Joyce Brown of Morrow, Louisiana; two brothers, Tilman Ogea of Alexandria, Louisiana, and Darrell Oge of San Diego, Ca.; and several nieces and nephews.
Although Mr. Ogea and his wife never had children, they were Godparents to a number of children.
The family would like to give thanks to the wonderful staff of the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerry Boulanger will officiate. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
