Joseph Pierrottie Obituary

Funeral services for Joseph "Tedie" E. Pierrottie, Sr., 80, will be at 2 p.m. June 8, 2009 in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Father Gerald Boulanger will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South under the direction of Robison Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a Cursillio Rosary at 6 p.m. and continues Monday, June 8th from 8 a.m. until time of service. Mr. Pierrottie passed away on Friday, June 5, 2009 in Sulphur surrounded by his family.
He was a native of Elton and longtime resident of Sulphur. He was retired from Calcasieu Marine National Bank after 30 plus years of service. He was an active member since 1951 with the American Legion Post 1 in Lake Charles and Post 179 in Sulphur where he was past Commander and received an MVP Lifetime membership. He was a disabled veteran from the Navy and served on the board of directors for the Cal Cam Fair association for 30 plus years. Joe "Tedie" was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved family and friends very much and was a dedicated supervisor of many "meet to eat" gatherings with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Anita M. Pierrottie; son-in-law Jimmy Sonnier; brother Elvin Pierrottie; and his three sisters, Odeal LaFargue, Myrtle Trahan and Mildred Breaux.
He is survived by three daughters, Alice Head Sawyer and husband Ira of Carlyss, Joanna Pierrottie Sonnier of Moss Bluff, and Juanita Pierrottie Hulsey and husband Marc of Sulphur; three sons, Joseph E. Pierrottie, Jr. and wife Judy of Crosby, TX, Jerald Pierrottie and wife Peggy of Cleveland, TN, and Jeffrey Pierrottie of Carlyss; his brother, Carol James "Gilly" Pierrottie; 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and too many "adopted" children to list.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.
