Mr. Scott William Wilkerson

Scott William Wilkerson, 46, died Sunday, August 2, 2009, in Mauriceville, Texas.
He was a native and longtime resident of Vinton prior to moving to San Antonio, Texas six years ago. He worked as a general foreman for Fluor Global Services and was a member of Sheltering Arms Church in San Antonio. His favorite past time was playing Po-Go.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Marie; parents Viola and Gary Wilkerson of Vinton; two step-children, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Verlander and Adam Verlander of San Antonio; three sisters, Lisa Ann, Dena Gay Menard and husband Jeff, and Rena Fay Simmons and husband Kim; one brother, Mickey Lee Wilkerson, all of Vinton; three step-grandchildren, Brandy Hibdon, Casey Morante, and Christopher Verlander; one step-great-grandchild, Paige Hibdon; nieces, Megan, Katie, and Kelsey; nephews, Josh and wife Ashley, and Zack; his great-nephew, Calum; and his siamese kitten "Sassie". Scott was also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews who thought of him as a wonderful uncle.
A memorial gathering will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, August 6, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Scott would have wanted his friends to be comfortable, so please come dressed casually. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.mem.com.
