Darlene Mondor Obituary

Darlene Ann Mondor, age 73, of Norwood Young America, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at her home in Norwood Young America. Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, July 8, 2023, 10:30 A.M., at Church of the Ascension in Norwood Young America. Gathering of Family & Friends was held Friday, July 7, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., at the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Norwood Young America, and did continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Darlene Ann (Kranz) Mondor was born on March 7, 1950, in Waconia, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Bernard and Loretta (Hoen) Kranz. Darlene was baptized in the Christian faith as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth both at Church of the Ascension in Norwood Young America, Minnesota. Darlene received her education in Norwood Young America and graduated with the Central High School class of 1968. She continued her education at Granite Falls Vo-Tech and received a degree in business.

On August 7, 1971, Darlene was united in marriage to Timothy "Tim" Mondor at Church of the Ascension in Norwood Young America, Minnesota. Darlene and Tim made their home in Norwood Young America. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Michelle and Michael. Darlene and Tim shared 51 years of marriage.

Darlene was employed at Klein Bank in Norwood Young America for 38 years. She worked as a teller, in customer service, as a loan officer, and was the manager at that branch for 10 years. She retired in October of 2016. She was an active member of the West Carver Lions for over 30 years. She was a faithful member of the Church of the Ascension in Norwood Young America; she sat on the church's finance council, was a part of their prayer circle, and donated her time to their Meals on Wheels program.

Darlene looked forward to camping, reading, and going on walks. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and doing puzzles as well. She truly cherished the time she spent with family and friends.

Darlene is survived by her Husband, Tim Mondor of Norwood Young America, MN; Children, Michelle Barnes and her husband, Jeremy, of Cleveland, TN, Michael Mondor and his wife, Stacie, of Waconia, MN; Grandchildren, Ashley Karels and her husband, Casey, Abbie Shockey and her husband, Deavon, Haidyn Lindner; Great-Grandchildren, Timothy and Liam Karels; Siblings, David Kranz and his wife, Dorothy, of Monticello, MN, Judy Maas of Norwood Young America, MN, Jackie Konerza and her husband, David, of Silver Lake, MN, Daniel Kranz and his wife, Judy, of Green Isle, MN; In-laws, Mary Jo Taylor, Connie Halvorson; Nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Darlene is preceded in death by her Parents, Bernard and Loretta Kranz; Father-In-Law & Mother-In-Law, Erva P. and Mary (Hunz) Mondor; Nephew, Jeffrey Kranz; Brother-in-law, David Maas; Sister-in-law, Barbara Templin.
