Harold Stacken Obituary

Harold J. Stacken, age 91, of Waconia passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Community (41 East First Street) in Waconia with Father Stan Mader as Celebrant of the Mass. Visitation from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass at church. Interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Harold was born on June 19, 1932 in Laketown Township, the son of Henry and Hedwig (Pierson) Stacken.

Harold was a proud Korean War veteran, serving from 1952 to 1954. One of his fondest adventures was attending the Korean Veterans Memorial Trip in Washington DC in 2018. Harold was honored to be chosen as the representative to place the wreath for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier during the memorial ceremony.

Harold married his wife Adeline (Geyen) in 1955 and they were blessed with five children and 68 years of marriage. They enjoyed attending the annual Stacken Family 4th of July reunion, family vacations, and casino bus trips. Harold and Adeline celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by traveling to Duluth with all of their children and grandchildren. Family time was his true treasure.

Harold was a talented woodworker, finding joy in crafting puzzles, airplanes, doll beds, wooden ducks, and other toys for his grandchildren. He was a member of the VFW and Knights of Columbus. Harold also enjoyed watching Twins baseball and Vikings football, playing bingo, and ice fishing. When he wasn't working or spending time with family, Harold could be found happily putzing in the garage or the yard.

His presence will be deeply missed but we will always cherish our times together.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Hedwig Stacken; son-in-law James Vit; brothers Cyril, Roman, Edward, Charlie, Joseph, and baby James Stacken; sister Margaret Willems.

Harold is survived by his loving family: wife Adeline; children Diane (Dan) Worm, Don (JoAnn) Stacken, Donna (John) Bodenhamer, Delora (Larry) Wallner, Dorene (Bob) Smith; grandchildren Alison (Ben) McCracken, Matthew Stacken, John (Melissa) Bodenhamer, Josiah Bodenhamer and special friend Hannah VanMeeteren, Kayla (Pete) Selness, Megan (Matt) Fink, Emily (Mitch) Widmer, Andrew Smith; great-granddaughter Aurora Bodenhamer; step-grandchildren Tim Worm and fiancee Shelly Machacek, Toby (Stacy) Worm; sisters Sister Stella Stacken, Darlene (Harry) Matti, JoAnn (Giles) Lenzmeier, Lucy Lucy; brothers Henry Stacken, Art Stacken, Paul (Pat) Stacken; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Betty Stacken, George Geyen, Maynard (Mary Ann) Geyen, Rosie (Norm) Willems; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
