John K. Larson

1962 - 2025

John K. Larson, age 62 of Cologne, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025, after a short, but valiant battle with cancer. John was a lifelong Carver County resident, living most of his life in rural Cologne and for the last five years as a resident of New Perspectives in Waconia.

Memorial service 6:00 PM Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia with Rev. Adam Teske as officiant. Gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the service.

Memorials are preferred to New Perspectives in Waconia or Grace Hospice in Minneapolis.

John Kevin Larson was born December 13, 1962 in Minneapolis, the son of DuWayne "Pete" and Beverly (Anderson) Larson. John was a gentle soul who was always there to help whether you needed your grass mowed, wood chopped or any project you needed assistance with. He was a hard worker and most recently worked in the deli at Mackenthun's in Waconia. John enjoyed his job, watching TV, going to movies, fishing locally and going on fishing trips, collecting pig figurines and a good cup of coffee. He thoroughly appreciated a good meal. In the last few years, he put quite a few miles on his E-Bike.

John is preceded in death by his parents DuWayne "Pete" and Beverly Larson; brother Wayne "Gus" Larson.

John is survived by his brothers Peter (Darilyn) Larson of Cologne, David (Julie) Larson of Hutchinson; sister Lori (Mark) Kotars of Delano; nieces and nephews Stephanie Larson, Joshua (Heather) Larson, Andrew (Stacey) Larson, Rose (fiancé: Bryan Nieman) Gildor, Laura (Dale) Karels; many great nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles Vi Anderson, Ole (Linda) Larson, Dale Larson, Rick (Maureen) Larson; other relatives and friends.
