Bruce Dietzler Obituary

Bruce Gordon Dietzler, age 89 of Burnsville, MN, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, at his home with family at his side.

Bruce was born on December 21, 1935 in Gilman, WI to Milferd and Katherine (Kapsy) Dietzler. He graduated from Gilman High School in 1953. After high school, he went to serve his country in the US Army for a short time. Bruce received his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at Marquette University. He married the love of his life Joan Chaplinski in Gilman, WI on June 23, 1962. Bruce retired from Lockheed Martin after a 40+ year career in Defense Systems and Air Traffic Control as a Sr. Systems Engineer/Program Manager.

He was a man of high integrity, a devoted and wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, grandpa, and friend. Kind, patient, faithful, and witty are just a few words that describe him. His family and friends were his pride and joy, with some of his friendships lasting over 80 years.

He enjoyed making memories with loved ones at the lake home they designed and built in Danbury, WI. He was an avid sports fan cheering for the Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Cardinals, and Milwaukee Bucks. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, cooking, writing, travelling, playing games, and anything in nature. He also loved animals big and small, especially their black labs.

He will be deeply missed, but forever held in the hearts of all who were blessed to be loved by him.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dolores (Richard) Strock and Jerome "Jerry" (Betty) Dietzler.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 63 years, Joan; children, Jenni (Tom) Reynolds and Mike Dietzler; grandchildren, Katie and Joe Reynolds; brother, Lawrence "Larry" (Nancy) Dietzler; also by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held 7 PM Friday, June 20, 2025 at the White Funeral Home, 12804 Nicollet Ave., Burnsville, MN (952-894-5080) with a gathering of family and friends starting at 4 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman, WI at a later date.

Memorials will be donated to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and the Animal Humane Society.
