Doris Beverly Olson

Doris Olson, age 91 of Apple Valley, MN, passed away on May 11, 2023.

Beverly was born in Sanborn, ND, and grew up in Svea Township and eventually met her husband, Dale, from neighboring Litchville, ND. Beverly had a long association with music, and was a music education teacher, music performer, and played the piano and guitar. She loved sacred, gospel, and country western songs, and Broadway musicals that were made into movies. She was known for her grace and positivity and a source of ongoing encouragement for her family and friends.

Beverly and Dale (her husband of 70 years) raised their family in Valley City, ND but most recently resided in Apple Valley, MN. Never really retiring, Beverly volunteered for the Medora Foundation and sampled foods at various Byerly's locations throughout the Twin Cities. An accomplished baker, Beverly sourced many recipes from her Swedish and Norwegian heritage. She loved attending Summer Fest and Syttende Mai celebrations and many choir concert programs throughout the Twin Cities. She and Dale traveled extensively, and she maintained meticulous records and photograph albums of their travels.

Survived by children, Randall (Eagan, MN), Robert (Madison, WI), Roger (Cape Coral, FL), and Rynelle (Apple Valley, MN) and 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for May 27, 2023 at 10 am at Grace Lutheran Church, Apple Valley, with a reception to follow. A burial at Woodbine Cemetery in Valley City, ND is scheduled for this summer.
